Anyone got any insight to what they will bring out?
The twin exhaust should be gone if were looking at the 450, does that mean they are scrapping the twinport head?
Or going 2 headers and then joining them by the clutchcover like an old husky 510?

Either way, if honda wants that #1 spot they have their work cut out for them if theyre looking at the new kawi for example.

I can't give sources, but look for it to be red. This one has legs, trust me.

Shootouts will be released then pulled for bad math, Honda inevitably wins the shootout.

Should be very similar to the 2021 450. I hope they can retain the cornering precision, add some stability and torque. If they do that, I’ll switch from blue to red.

On a more serious note, I wish I had been able to try a bone stock CRF because I rode Carlinojoe's but it had A-kit, RaceTech head, etc. That was definitely a fun bike and turned really well.

A fast local kid that rides a stock KTM with the only upgrade being kit suspension was on a 2021 Honda demoday. He said the engine was considerably slower than the Austrian 250.

Red and Honda, your source has got to be Ralph Sheheen.

Sales are so poor with the CRF250R they are cutting production and re-releasing the ATC and TRX 250R....

Yup, motor isnt everything but for sure the CRF isnt as strong as other stock 250 motors, but responds very well with mods. With the 2022 CRF250R getting the same layout as the 450 then there will be a lot more air going in so look for more HP for sure.

Still the slowest motor in the 2022 shootout.
This is true since they don't even include Suzuki in the shootouts anymore

If you look at the dyno curve of the honda it mimics the 2020 kx250 and has way more top end than the yamaha, defintely not slow

Skeeter said the Honda 250f is such a dog the KTM 125 is faster than it

I think it just feels slow because it doesnt have that snappy feeling when you crack the throttle but if you would take lap times it would be not much difference

What mods have you done / are best for it?

I put a Pipe, 14:3 piston, vortex ignition, 49t rear sprocket and run vp u4.4 in mine and it’s made it a great bike. Out of the box yeah it’s slow but with those mods it’s made it such a fun bike. Corners in 3rd and revs super far

I assume a pipe, ECU, and VP T4 would close the gap enough with the Yamaha to make it a nice package if you’re just riding for fun.

How many hours you get out of the piston?

More meat in the engine department, hydro clutch and single pipe would make one badass crf250. Even though I'm too fat to ride one full time I can't wait to see what changes they make.

Ill be buying one and selling my 2018 KX250F. Finally time for that magic button! Hopefully it has some low end power but I assume it will be a high rpm screamer like the current bike and KTM.

Not sure how it compares I’ve never ridden the Yamaha. I think I’ve got 45 on the 14:3 right now. Definitely pushing it but I bought a 2021 KX250 yesterday. Out of the box the engines way more enjoyable to ride than the Honda.

CRF 250 has always been a turd.
Swapmoto guys mostly said it was the most fun bike to ride for 2021...

I think we all know that out of the box the Honda isnt the strongest engine, congrats on your new purchase

I you're a 450 rider? The Honda power delivery takes a while to figure out. If you're coming of an 85 0r a 125...? It's awesome. I think that engine is a blast to ride, It's like a super-torquey 2 stroke, to me. Keefer's kid rides one with, I think, with a little bit of work and a Vortex (again, I think...?) from Twisted...it rips around Glen Helen like a Boss!

The next-gen Honda 250 should be pretty damn nice. I'm just wondering if they'll make a new head casting or build a 2 into 1 header...?

Pretty much nailed it. If you rev the tits off it they rip. Not made for luggers (like me).

I like bikes having different characteristics. Not everyone likes how Yamahas and Austrian bikes are

For me, the Honda is a fun bike. My brothers 19 yz250f is a superior machine in many ways. For me, I need a yamaha engine in a Honda chassis. 😁

18-21 is a turd. The older generations were slow but at least they were reliable and didn't weigh more than a 450
