What are your guys opinion on it. I'm trying to decide on a 250f or 450f. I've had a 250 2T for a while with a 17' 350 mixed in between and hated everything about it. I haven't owned a 450 in about 10 years (08 yz450) and i just remember how dangerous and heavy the bike was. How much more rideable are the 450s now then they used to be. I have a choice between a 2017 crf450 or a 2018 kx250f. If anyone owns either bike can fill me in. I'm really hesitant for the 450 just based on previous experience. I weigh around 180lbs and a normal "B" rider. I normally race off road with moto practice in between. i'm sure a 250f would still pull me around fine, but i weigh about 30 more pounds then i did last time i raced those a couple years ago. I appreciate any info.
Thanks!

Hated everything about the 350? That has to be overstatement, or perhaps 4 strokes aren't for you. 450s are still powerful and heavy feeling, and a 250f will be similar to the 350 but with less power. Why not just get another 250 2T?

I have a lot of fun on my 250f. I weigh 250lbs so my 450 allows me to be more competitive. But youre right, the 450 is dangerous. I grabbed a handful when i cased a table about a month ago and it wicked me off the top like i wasnt even on the bike. With that being said, doesnt make the 450 any less fun. Being able to wheelie out of corners effortlessly is so fun. Cant do that on the 250. If power is your concern, you can probably choke it down with mapping.

The suspension was horrible, and a very unstable bike. I had to ride the 350 harder than i do my 250 2t it seemed like. Maybe it was a KTM thing, It just wasn't for me and hated it.

The 2018 kxf is a good bike, underrated in my opinion. I went from a 17 Husky 350 to a 18 kxf250 and for me it's a much better bike, I got the suspension done but that was it. Decent power, good handling and for a new bike 2k cheaper than a new ktm.

I just got rid of my 17 350sxf and on an 18 crf450 now. I'm having a lot more fun on the 450. I can't speak for other brands but to me the honda's power is smooth and there's tons of it. It feels smooth like the 350 to me but on steroids. The 350 is a great bike but it got to be a little boring for me. Both bikes corner incredibly well but I actually prefer the overall feel of the honda. I would not go back.
