I have a 98 cr250r that had a head gasket leak. I put on a new oem head gasket and now I've lost all compression. The bike has a new weisco piston and rings along with a rad valve. It had compression before head gasket was changed and started right up. I don't know what else could cause a sudden loss in compression. Any ideas would be great.

Thanks that was my next move. I'm hoping that does the trick. We will see.

Did you bolt the head back on in a crisscross pattern?

Yes sir I crisscrossed all the head bolts. I'm going to take the head to machine shop on tuesday and put a new oem gasket on and see what happens.

You might need to get the top of the cylinder checked as well. I've seen that gen CR250 have them not be flat and still leak after having the head decked.

I changed the head gasket again today and head was leaking left side when I tried to start it. I'm going to pull cylinder tomorrow and have it checked out. I will order another oem head gasket and go from there. Thanks for the help.

That thing is trying to tell you something... I would listen if I were you and never ride that thing again. My jacked left ankle and right partially torn labrum called from 1998 and agree with me!
