To me the real peak was around 88-93. It was like AXO could do no wrong. Every product was well made and just simply cooler than any other brands stuff. The mid-later 90s stuff was great too...but I think some of the other brands were starting to catch up. You could take a 90/91 AXO Catalog and wear nothing but that stuff today and be stylin.

You cant say its for lack of effort. I was approached in 2010 by AXO to help bring them back in the US starting in the BMX market. At the time, i was working with Free Agent, running a development team to compliment the elite factory team. The whole team went AXO, defending world champion/ Olympic gold medalist, all in AXO. That was as good as it got, the response was great, but it was all, “what can we get free?” So we left the BMX market after the FA contract was up. Dave wanted to focus soley on MX markets. He had the full backing from HQ, money was there, marketing was there, nobody really wanted to take the chance and give AXO a shot on the big stage. They finally went the Hookit route hoping exposure would grow demand. And this is the result.

The Free Agent stuff was fun, AXO went above and beyond for us. Anything we wanted to try, they obliged. Wish they could have landed a decent team in the pro ranks and the brand made a come back. Oh well..

I was an axo rider for years! Gear was always good and I loved the prime boots with the rounded toe and heal. You could lay it over in sand and the boot would let your foot surf instead of grabbing. Good stuff. I will miss it.

I ripped through those soles every 3 rides. I warrantied probably 4 pairs of them before I finally switched boots. They warrantied the 4th set and I put the new ones on the shelf as a back up set. They were good boots though

Did that a while ago...
Still fit in clothes from the late eighties, although some are a bit tight, lol.
I've actually been wearing the same size for a long while, and it's amazing how the cut has evolved, especially for the pants, which were really snug fit, cut like jeans, and almost feel like jogging pants now...
So much more room and WAAAAY stretchier and comfy.

have this set, 2016 Trans-Am vented, as well as couple other recent AXO. GREAT gear, high quality construction, last much longer vs bunch of the other over priced name stuff

I had an AXO ride back in the late 80's and early 90's. Great gear back then. Their recent stuff was meh IMO. I'm looking forward to the Just 1 gear coming out.

I don’t remember exactly what year maybe 1996 all of the Axo pants wore thin on the ass and everyone wearing Axo had holes in their pants on the ass. Poor quality. And i remember Axo pants and even those $60 jerseys coming unstitched and falling apart regularly. They looked killer from 1992-1997 though

Not with me I had some Oneal stuff a few years back it was the worst gear I've ever owned. That stuff was terrible hot and crappy put together.
