RC didnt have complaints just lots of titles. RV is most likely still feeling the effects of whatever illness he had. Prob shouldnt be riding and rest. He's fast, it's a temporary fitness thing I think. Wow James not wanted to listen to a trainer?

Aldon is a PROVEN factor for winning championships. What ever program he has him on is most likely the right program for Villopoto. I agree he looks a little thin, but what do we know, we are looking at pictures not scales.

I hope it's not mono like Reed had last year. I actually have mono right now and there is no way to describe how much it sucks unless you've actually had it yourself. I couldn't imagine trying to do 35 minute motos with it.

That's what I was thinking also. Poto is a badass dude outdoors and he will give Reed and Dungey all they can handle soon I bet.

I think when it comes to intense training like is needed it all goes by something they call a "Cycle"

RV will hit his stride soon and be charging like Lance Armstrong in the Tour de France.

Lance Armstrong?? Lets hope not. RV is clean??? Armstrong not so much..

If you are ever bored pull up Armstrong's charity tax returns and look at the percentage that is paid out to money taken in. You will never buy or look at a yellow wristband the same. The guy is a fraud.

Sorry for the Lance rant. Back to RV.

RV is fine. He is ahead of Dungey in points and has not been close to beating him. One bad Reed moto and he is at the top or only a few points from it.

Not the best comparison...

RV is finding out Dungey has upped the pace since he was last riding outdoors, combined with just winning the Supercross title it isn't going to be as easy as many predicted.

He should be 100% ready at high point with the two week break... if he isn't battling for the win there I will be very surprised because he can't afford to lost much more ground to Reed.

We know he's sick with something. That's why I said I'd have to wait till round 4 to know for sure. Pretty much any illness other than mono would go away by then. His bad starts aren't helping anything either.

Yeah what kind of media demands are we talking about? I'm not saying he doesn't have any, but last year when RD had a bad first round was the first time I've heard it mentioned as a disadvantage. I remember when RC won his SX titles, his ass kicking continued seamlessly into the Nationals.

"IF" true, Mono, my son 16 just had it 4 months ago and had it so bad had tonsils out... sucks really bad!

Definitely, the bar can't be set much higher, and I guess it's unfair to compare anyone to him. It's just that I've never heard this "media demands" argument until recently. And if RV is sick, I hope he recovers soon and gets up to speed.

Also, the speed Dungey and Reed are showing is a factor in RV's results too. Can't lose sight of that.

Absolutely ! Dungey is a trademark already, but I`ve never seen Reed this determent, not even in his Suzuki days.

As far as "media demands" go, the first time I ever heard it mentioned was by The King/MC. The year he was going to go undefeated in SX he said the week leading into the race he lost, he didn't spend enough time riding and was doing "other" obligations. He felt that cost him the undefeated SX season.

Anyone else remember that???

Personally I wouldnt be surprised one bit if it was EB and I stated this in another thread last week...if he is still sick at round 4 it has to be something more than "being sick" and media obligations. It has happened to two of the better guys in the last 4 years (RC and Reed). For these guys to get the most out of riding they need to train hard, but overtraining can easily happen. Sucks if he is sick, means it will be a two horse race for the title with maybe 2 other guys that can get up there for race wins (TC and Pourcel if CP comes around).

I believe a combination of mild illness and not racing outdoors in two years accounts for what we're seeing out of RV. I wouldn't doubt for a second that he'll turn it around very soon also.
