Got a pair on asterisks cell knee braces. They give me so much stick, i don't find them too restrictive on the bike, but man are the uncomfortable. Gets annoying re adjusting them like 5 times a day and coming home with huge dents in your shin!

Anyway, what's the other options? I don't feel they offer loads of support in terms of been a brace anyway, so I was looking as the Thor force knee guards. Are they really
Much different? Other braces seem a bit pricy for what they are!

Plenty of threads out there on knee braces and everyone has a different opinion. I used the Thor knee guards you're talking about for a handful of years and the hard shell protecting the kneecap is great but it's not going to prevent ligament damage like an actual knee brace.

As for a great alternative, give the POD K300 brace a look, it comes in at a good price point and fits very well. After riding with them for a little while, you hardly notice they are there (as cliche as it is). I'm a big fan of the kneecap guard and the adjustable stoppers that the brace offers.

Pod K4 or K8 if you want the carbon fiber version.

Great braces!

Running pod k4, and love them.
How was the sizing on the K4 braces? I'm looking at the sizing chart and my knee width is 4.75" which is right on the border of either a large or XL, I ran into this in the past with CTI MVP braces, the large was a little tight and the XL was a little loose feeling.
The K4 offers a Med/Large which goes from 4.25 to 4.72 and the XL/2XL goes from 4.72 tp 5.27 which are big gaps , the K8 isoffered in separate large and XL braces which have closer gaps in sizing but the are a lot more money.
Thanks

i love my mobius braces, they used to get stuck by the knee cover with the pants at first but i sent them back for some wire fixing and they updated that piece to a newer version and they just work perfect now and don't feel as bulky as the asterisk do

+1 pods. Had asterisks like u and had same problem. Put them on shelf and just went commando; they were that annoying. Bought a pair of pods k300 and barely noticed them. Now on 2nd pair. K4 this time. Won't ride without them. Get xl they run smaller than sizing chart.

Every body is different, so a brace that works well for one may not be comfortable for another. That said, TLD's Catalyst X braces are the most comfortable braces I have ever used. They're also extremely durable.

Weird.... I've worn Asterisks for the last 10 years and have never had an issue. I had custom CTI's before that, but wore them out.... I'm on my 2nd set of Asterisks and they are in descent condition, but I'll probably get a new pair soon. I'd be interested to see how the Möbius braces fit, I've heard good things about them.

Ya, I heard the asterisks were really comfy, but they just don't work for me! I'll have to check out the pods for sure. I do like the atserisks anti rotation tethers! Do any other manufactures do this?

Don't want to sack them off totally, been wearing them for that long I would feel bare without them.

I wore asterisks braces for 10 years. About 2 years ago I switched to knee pads (TLD). I just decided that knee braces weren't in my program anymore...
