Easier said than done when he was trying to out blitz Webb through the whoops...I guess he could have slowed right down and tried to block him out from the inside, but that would risk Webb blowing right by on the outside, tough situation.

I think since he was taking that line all night, he knew what it was like. If he goes inside and there’s a huge hole, he blows it.

But I ride motorcycles, so I understand it not making sense to you folks

Looks to me he committed to that outside line, was anticipating the contact, when it didn’t come he cross rutted a bit and could not get on the power.

I might have covered the inside through the whoops then blocked cooper on the way out as needed.

Maybe that’s all he had left in the tank was to run that outside line and hope for the best?

It looks like he's been trying to avoid any bar banging at all costs.
It might be just me , coz I definitely would be trying to avoid it if I had been through what he has.
