And the 2019 Touquet winner is...

British guy Nathan Watson on Jeffrey Herlings's Red Bull KTM. Nathan fought his way to the front after an awesome battle with Milko Potisek (who broke his Yamaha in the last lap(!)). Watson is also the new French Sand Champion. Jeremy Van Horebeek and frenchman Camille Chapeliere also had an awesome battle for the lead but CC took a penalty for cutting the track and then crashed twice. JVH got passed by Watson and Potisek at mid-race and crashed after that, leading to a dnf for the belgium.

I watched it all today, it was on motorsport tv... Todd Kellett was doing really well too, hanging around 5-6 most of the race and could well have finished 3rd but his front brake siezed on sometime after the 2 hour mark... just after JvH went out... Rob Holyoake finished top 40 too... estimated over 400,000 spectators with over 2500 riders over the 3 days of racing, over 1200 of them starting today’s race... I’ve been over and watched it 3-4 times, might have to try and get an entry next year, I love beach races...

Fantastic ride by Nathan, he timed it pretty much to perfection. That's been a long time coming and I'm sure it won't be his last victory

It's amazing that KTM races this championship with a semi-factory effort. Nathan Watson and Camille Chapelliere are on damn factory bikes! When KTM does something it's always "All In". Nathan Watson by the way really deserves this win and the championship too! The Britain needed to skip one round because of his WESS program but still he stayed into contention for the championship due to his win streak.

Yentel Martens by the way got hit by a bike. A lapper crashed and while that rider crashed his bike flipped towards and into Yentel and it impacted on his bike and body. He left the race and was on his way to his M.D. when mine friend called with him to see what damage his body had. If I understands the story correctly it's a freak accident that sounds lot like that crash between Justin Barcia and Marvin Musquin back at the Freestone National.

Just goes to show, Herlings is not the fastest sand rider, it's his bike, any one could win on that bike.
Paging Ronnie Mac.
