Yep. He’s a 5-10 guy in this group. Just is.

Under performing this year for sure... he should be a 3-6 guy most of the time. Occasional moto podium and occasional 6-8 moto finish. Just my opinion...

What are you guys...nuts!? It's the bike. Everyone knows it's the bike, not the rider. It's stupid to consider the 450, on the same chassis as the 250, and a few pounds heavier, is a massive pig and will never win a pro race. It's got nothing to do with Barcia and a continuously injured Plessinger.

It is the rotating centralized mass. It makes no sense. Y'all should know that the further out from the center of mass means better balance. Right?

And tomac, musquin, kroc would win on that bike.

The 250 Yamaha is always winning because power is the battleground in that class. All the 250's handle good enough for the power they put out. Just because that chassis is "good enough for the 250," doesn't mean that other teams don't have a better 450 chassis.

Combination of bike and team. Yamaha’s in-house 450 program is clearly not responsive to riders input and will continue to flounder until they change their approach. I feel bad for AP7, if the team wouldn’t take input from CR22 or CW2, there is no way that they’ll listen to him. I would be looking for a better environment ASAP, if I was him.

I'd bet a lot of money that It's the team. Reed said the bike was horrible when he went back. Also, their support teams in MotoGP have been making the factory team look bad for the last three years.

For the first time in 3 years. His last overall win on that bike was in 2016.

Yep and still 1-1 on the. Yamaha, the other poster said no one would win a pro race.

Fevbre's win is a moot point though if we're talking about Barcia. FIM bikes wouldn't be AMA legal because they can modify the frames and engine cases.

Bike works in the GPs, but man, NOBODY has been able to consistently make that bike work, and they've had some talented riders atop those machines.

Js7, cr22, ap7, jb51, cw2.

Like when Cooper got asked about his success with KTM and what changed..... "I think you just said it."

Do you think tomac could win on one?

Yes, but he'd probably have more bad races, especially in Supercross

Why isn't Barcia & Plessinger on the 2020 bike? Seewer has been on one a long time now and there has to be enough of 2020 bikes in US for it being legal to race on at this point?

I think more and more is pointing at the team structure being the issue at the American factory Yamaha team. This is just bench racing and there is no way to prove this but i'm sure Plessinger would do better on a Star Racing 450 than the factory Yamaha 450.

You should have used your sarcasm font, bro. You came pretty damn close to creating a 10 pager with that one.

Give the bike, the team, and the guy a break. I think he’s fighting some injuries.

Yeah it's definitely the bike. You can tell because when he was on the Suzuki his results were amazing.

It's a combination of being injured and having to bounce off of every rider that comes within 50 feet of him that is holding back.

bike??? team??? Dude is still recovering from a slew of nagging injuries.... and is running top ten against some insane beasts inside the top 5....

Barcia still has it...... but I gotta put him into the Blake Baggett "too many injuries take their toll" category at the moment..........

He's having wrist surgery after the season. That may have a lot to do with it.

I'm sure he will do a little better if he doesn't get hurt again for a while, but this is the most stacked, aggressive field of 450 riders I've ever seen. He may never do as well as he did in past years. There aren't just 2 or 3 extra bad dudes anymore. There's 6 to 8 of them. Personally, I think that's the difference.

Saddest thing is...Barcia has the skill and the speed to be more than a 6-15 guy that he's showing himself to be, and he has burned a lot of bridges that might effectively keep him from being on any team with a better bike. The Yamaha deal he signed seemed like a good deal for him...but something (bike/team/management/injuries/confidence) is keeping him from performing to his potential. The guy can damn sure ride a dirt bike!
