An old racer, Gene Smith, posted these in the Vintage Desert Racing group on Facebook today. On this day, in 1967, the first ever Barstow to Vegas race was held. My grandfather raced in and finished 3rd overall. Pretty cool to see these old results and some of the names in the results.

Gramps looks like he was a sandbagger with all the experts he beat. LOL. That is so awesome. I'm glad for you that you ran across that.

Lol! Gramps was no slouch in the desert and my dads friends learned that the hard way! He absolutely hauled across the desert, but thought we were just for going in circles and hitting jumps at the track Laughing
