Might be sketchy
Hey bud I owned a 2001 2002 2005 & still have a 2007. I know a shit motor when I ride one. You really think RC had a stock engine? My 2001 had the best Engine out of all of them.

Yeah well the engine RC had in his bike vs the one in the production bike are apples and oranges. Plus RC could have gotten a perfect season on a donkey turd with wheels if he had wanted to.
When an 03 and 04 were running right they were faaast. Ride it in the mid to top and the thing pulled like an F1 car.
That's cool bud. I owned a 98, 03, 04, rode a 05. I know an over exaggeration when I hear one. I never said stock. I said with some work it's not **that** bad. So many people repeat what they hear when they haven't rode the bikes. Atleast you have. It's the same way people bag on the 02-07 CR125. When really it was the 02-04 that was slow. Anyways, to each his own.

Compared to the 01's, they were "that bad"..
A little of track, but does anyone remember that crazy CR 250 build a few years ago? Dude dropped some serious coin on it and incorporated some kart racing technology.

Owned the infamous 01 CR250r with mods. It's a decent engine, but prefer the 02-07 CR2 case reed engine over the HPP version. It doesn't take much to make the case reed engine sing. In stock trim from the factory - showroom floor Honda did that engine some injustice with the overly rich oem jetting specs. Fine tuning the carb will wake up the sluggish low - mid transition. With cyl & head mods it's at a whole different level. RC would pull hole shots against the factory 450's of that era on the 02-03 CR2..
The vet mx 2 stroke championships at the Glen Helen track was won by a rider on an 03 CR250r against modern 2 strokes recently..
Here is a video of a guy on an 02 CR250r which is basically a stock engine with a Dep pipe going against modern 17 KTM / Husky 2t's.
Speak softly and carry a big stick.
I dont think hes looking for the buyer that is interested in a new YZ or KTM.
Hes looking for the die hard Honda guy that had 2 strokes back in the day and wants to either get back into it or add to the collection. Type of guy who has disposable income and buys what he wants not whats "easier" or the guy who really wanted to buy a new bike but joined the Marines in 2002 to be shipped off to the middle east for 4 tours and "missed" the coming of the 4 stroke era.
While I agree the price seems pretty darn high if I was made of money I would have it in my garage as I was not in the position to buy a brand new CR250 in 2002. Restored bikes are nice but they are only "brand new" once.
I wonder if he at least took it back to the dealer for the recall letter that all 2002 CR250 owners received... so they could slap some extra silicone on the horrible, useless airbox boot seal.

Agreed on all points,. But some on vital think Honda is the devil. , But still support them. Lol.
For people who like to claim year X bikes were slow and had a shit motor. Two words: Jerry Robin. *drops mic*.
For those who forgot or too young to remember....
Atleast a few people get it. Some people aren't mechanically inclined and can't tune a bike. That's okay.
I'll take the motor issues (fixable) of the 02-07 any day over the shit chassis of the 01.
