If there any moto videographers on here can you please help, Im looking a getting a sub AUD$1000 camera just for putting together some short edits, nothing too serious, just a bit of fun (secondhand is fine). After recommendations for any particular type of camera that puts out a decent enough fps to shoot 1080p in slow motion.
A gopro or a gopro knock off can get close up shots nice and slow.
But really you need to do the research on the specs and find what you need. 1080 @ 60fps can be slowed down pretty good, but it isn't no "wow check out the roost flying at me slow" Most DSLR cameras can do the 1080 @ 60 that are well below 1000.

I had thought about getting a v30 (need a new phone anyway) but id really like to have something that can record in a higher fps.
Also keep in mind that when a camera shoots 1080 60p that's not slow motion, that's just a shooting mode. Look for 48fps, 60FPS, 120fps, that means, frames per second and will actually record in slow motion like a high end camera.
The Sony A7S is a great camera and shoots in 4K. You can find them used for about $1,000usd. This will shoot up to 120FPS. Here's a test video I found online:

The A7S is a great camera. It's what I use for all my videos. It CAN shoot 4k, but not internally. You have to use an external recorder such as an Atmos Shogun.
For good Moto slow motion, you probably want minimum 1080 120fps. iPhones say they can do this, but until the iPhone 8, it was actually 720p upscaled to 1080p.
My recommendation would be to save a little more and buy a Sony a7s ii. This does 4k in-body as well as true 1080p @120fps.
