Cargo trailer DIY toy hauler

I would guess the biggest cost would be holding tanks,electronics, fridge, oven.ac etc. We had a guy near me that was disabling a really nice camper just to get the frame.. He was selling all that stuff for free you just had to pull them out yourself. It was a really nice camper and the windows and all the appliances was really nice. That would save you a lot if you can find something like that.

I added a shower ,sink, hot water heater, 20 gal fresh water tank and lights to a 6x12. Cost about 400 I think. Can stay in it and is plenty for me. with a 20 foot you could do a lot and make it the way you need it.

Another cheap idea would be a short bus conversion.

Believe me...there is no 1000% markup...not in this market anyway...Dealers are lucky to get 10 to 15 percent. They are not all junk. I have beat the H-E-L-L out of some Diamond Cargo with great luck. I'm sure others may have not had as great of an experience. We could put you in a brand new base 20' for $5,500 with 3,500lb axles. I'd suggest upgrading to 5,200lb though for resale...that would add about $500. Ad roof air and electrical package for about $1,400 more. Then customize it to fit your needs. Depending on how handy you are you might want the mfg to go ahead and insulate and finish the roof in vinyl. I think plain wood walls and floors are fine....just paint them. If you wanted to spend all 10k with me you could have a killllllller unit. Just add your own beds. Full water package adds about 3k more. Here is a 26' we did that retails for $16,500

Been wanting to do something like that to my 22 footer. I went to look at real toy haulers and as I opened a storage bin, I ripped it off the wall. Salesman wasn't pleased but wtf is that? $30K for what?
