I want to see him get up to speed and healthy before he tries to beat the top guys. I believe if he can get healthy and get the bike setup he wants he can win races this year. IF he gets healthy and gets his bike setup done first which will take some time I believe.

It's going to be tough for an old fart like Reedy to prepare, test & heal in time for the A1 gate. I hope he's not letting his pride talk louder than his good sense. All that said...he's a hero to all us older guys, and I hope he does well. And...stays healthy as long as he wants to do this.

The volume from the crowd will set noise records if he gets out front in an SX race this year.

I know he is not under the factory rig but i always had a big time calling the equipment he is using privater, 100% sure he gets factory tranny for safety, and he will be on factory KYB suspension, and probably some more unobtanium parts electronics, not to mention goose and many other top mechanic is putting this machine together. A true privater for me would be someone who not earned the big bucks and racing on aftermarket parts only like Seven deuce deuce.

Don’t spoil it for me! After all he is on his own. So still privateering it.

I found it interesting that Ellie said in an Instagram reply that Yamaha didn’t want Chad this year. I assumed that he left/got out of his deal because he wanted to.

Chicken and Egg.

If he liked the bike he'd ride better, get better results and they'd still want him... Never thought it was a good idea, dude needs a quick handling bike that he feels comfortable with, always has.

He still needs to show up with a pickup truck and a two stroke - and have an actual good time.

But at least he'll be back on a steel frame bike. Pretty sure that hasn't happened since 2005.

Just listened too the racer x podcast were Weege Jt and Matthes talk 22 and what I got out of it is how big a car crash is guna be at A1 and gota agree.. Hoping for a respectable finish but geez are we guna see a 15th like they predict?? I actually wonder if he can seriously hold on too that bike for a whole main. And they even questioned whether he could not make a main? With 3 weeks on a bike since Vegas last year

But, Crush...why is it always Chad, Webb, Stewart or whoever signs to ride the blue bikes, spout off how great the bike is...how they have the "winning ticket", then can't wait to GTF away from the Yamaha and the team because the bikes are crap...or so most say when they leave?

Think the very fact that two guys who actually have a pretty similar riding style could only get the bike to work in one yet opposite track condition last year is a good indication it's a different duck. Reed looked really good when the track was smooth last year, if he'd have gotten any starts his results would have improved immensely. Not wins, I think that's done without a start for sure, but not what they were.

Barcia, Peick, Brayton and Millsaps have all said it's a different bike to set up. And Chad has never pushed without feeling comfortable and always been at his best on the twitchy or quick handling bikes. RMs, YZ steel frame, and the 12 Honda...
