I don't really understand autographs so maybe I'm missing the point but this is why I'd hate to be a professional athlete or famous person these days.. You have to be exactly the person people want you to be or they'll go on the internet and tell everyone how disappointed they are..

No thread started about how good it was that the other guys signed just a negative one about the guy that didn't

Well myself I would say at least a couple of hundred fans had paid their local graphics company to print out a 22 plate to get signed to hang up in their man cave only for reed to turn is away, I'm still a reed fan just a bit bummed about it tbh
Yeah that's a shame that you all did that but that's not really Reed's problem but I can't imagine he'd just not sign it to be a dick considering he signed other stuff.. Maybe (I don't know) his graphics sponsor gets the shits if they get the rights to his 22 plate graphic but they just got dudded a couple of hundred plates (at just this race I assume it happens a lot).. So maybe Reed is supporting the people that support him

Again I don't know just a thought

I would guess its sponsor related issue. Same thing happens in other sports.

If it was a few I'd understand. But one? That's messed up.

That's exactly what I asked him and he sort of shrugged it off, but the poster he gave me and signed was of him on a Yamaha anyway ?
So he signed a poster for you?

Just scribble his name on it. You saw how he signs things just copy it.

You should have seen his reaction when I asked him to sign my team22 table cover.

Don't hurt yourself jumping to conclusions, Jeffro. We have only one spurred fans side of the story.

Unless the OP is 9yo or under, this is one of the stupidest complaints I've seen in a little while.

I take it that the Aussie motto of "harden the f*ck up" never quite made it to him. Or maybe he's one of the reasons for it in the first place.......

Maybe it was because all the others were signed and he was a lapper and decided to hold up the process a little??

I can guarantee you there would not have been a wotrd said on here if he'd have signed it. Walk up with just a Reed plate and you'd get the autograph. Come up with a plate of everyone and it just looks like you're going to sell them for profit. I've got no problem with Reed not signing something like that.

The only thing more embarassing than asking another adult for an autograph is starting a thread bitching about being told "no." TongueLaughing

Like others have mentions, personalize it with your name and whats the problem? It is always something with that guy, shitty deal in my opinion really.

I am not into getting autographs. I couldn't care less about it.....

BUT, if I waited in line for an hour and was told NO I would be super annoyed. Not sure I would go on a forum to discuss it but I would be pissed.

Chad at least owed the guy a full explanation and should've offered to sign something instead if there was some contractual reason he couldn't sign the plate.

And if there is a contractual issue with signing certain things then whoever is advertising this Reedy signing needs to list the items that Reed can't sign so people don't waste an hour or more in line for no reason.

If it was because of a resell concern all Reed has to do was ask who to sign it too and note "Thanks for being a fan Joe dirt bike enthusiast - Reed"

I agree. Someone can sign 100 autographs but the 101st makes a big stink about it. I'm not saying the OP did that but it does happen.

Can i ask if he was kind to sign anything else for you instead of that plate?

Autographs are worth money, if riders don't like that someone can buy something, queue up for an hour for a signature and then resell for a small profit then I guess they can refuse to sign anything but it seems a little petty to me for a guy worth millions to begrudge that of someone.

How do they know it's for profit and not for a personal display at home anyway? Weird.
This.

Glad I'm not a pro nowadays. The unreal pressure to be perfect for everyone, all the time would be insurmountable.

I am picturing a guy standing there with a stack of signed numberplates. That's obnoxious. Almost as obnoxious as getting on the Internet afterwards and complaining. Why not be happy with what you got instead of publicly criticizing the one guy who dared deny you?

I don't blame Reed for not signing something for an adult.
