Last night after everything was packed up and the pits emptied, I caught up with Chad Reed after having a few laughs with RV and was getting ready to leave. He gave us a couple minutes of his time and we chatted about the banter between him, Ronnie Mac, and Ryan Villopoto...then talked about his two-stroke and the event itself. Then right at the end, Chad gave us a little info on 2018...saying he plans on riding a Husqvarna and will probably do it on his own.

On another note... It's damn nice to see how happy RV looks these days. Seems to be smiling all the time now... on camera at least.
Great event last night!

Team22?
I'd bet his results are better than the last two years too. Dude is about front end feel and comfort, which is why I wanted to see what he'd do on a KTM or Husky.
This injury will set him back a bit with his 2018 fitness, sounded like he was about to start ramping up his program..
I want him to do well next year, a podium would be great !
Pit Row
What about the Yamaha? He's hardly the only person to note that the bike is big, heavy and doesn't turn the greatest. Cooper Webb seemed to have a frustrating year as well..
Acting like there's no validity to Chad's complains with bikes is ridiculous, he's 100x the rider any of us will be, I can't imagine the different things you feel at that level. He's always been someone that needs to be 100% comfortable to ride at full pace.
Lol! So you mean, he was the THIRD rider on a Japanese bike??!!
Difference is, Chad isn't afraid to say whatever he is thinking, consequences be dammed. Everyone has heard the stories of the Dungey furiously testing and carrying on because his bike wasn't right, but then he goes full vanilla for the cameras.
And then if someone who isn't winning or in the limelight doesn't like their bike, well who gives a shit, you don't hear from them anyways. Does anyone know if Peick liked his last 5 bikes? Nope. It's a completely different expectation and interview question for him.
Whether you like that or not, it's just the way they are. Doesn't make them wrong.
Low key might be the way to go.
Same thing by riding and old bike instead of a brand new one. (Despite the fact he's known to love the steely)
