Dean Ferris was supposed to be hosting a training camp this weekend and he is now on a plane.
I can only assume that he is getting the Plessinger ride for outdoors.

It's all a bit of a mystery really, he posted photos on Facebook this week riding at Willow Bank but he was riding a 17 yz 450 ???
He wants to win an AMA 450 outdoor championship...he has said that and I believe him..he might run a few gp rounds as a fill in before the nationals start if he has that opportunity, because it would be very smart to do so...come into the start of the nationals right off the back of a few gp's and on a factory yamaha USA ride?
I think he would be a serious contender.
I broke my right heel into 4 pieces in 1995, by far the most tedious injury I ever had, broke my left ankle in the same smackdown , i was not allowed to put my feet on the ground for 3 months, took 2 months after that b4 I could walk without crutches.
Im hoping Plessinger recovers way quicker than I did , but a smashed up heel is a nasty , debilitating injury. It still gives me shit today, some 24 years later..
My guess is he is going to team Yamaha USA for the nationals and maybe via a few GP's in Europe.
Thats my best, totally uneducated guess, no doubt there will be a forthcoming press release if he is riding for a top team..

Ha ha, thats so funny, just made the above post then went to Facebook where i had a notification that Dean Ferris had replied to a comment I made on his most recent post. I asked if they were old photos because he was riding a 17..he said nah, photos were from yesterday, I still have my old bike!
Ya gotta love the bloke...he's not gonna sook about not having an up to date practise bike...hes just gonna get out there and go fast with what he has!
Anyone who thinks Hes not gonna be up front wherever he lands ...is bloddy well dreaming!

I would have been devastated if he lined back up for the Aussie Nats again, certainly seems he now has something solid lined up somewhere

So he was riding Suzuki because he probably seen the opportunity to go to JGR for outdoors. He went to the US but it was quiet so he came home to train on his championship 17-YZ. Then must have got a call to rush to Europe.
Glad he’s going to ride a prestige series as he is good enough. Whether he does the whole MXGP or just a few before going to Hangtown, I wish him all the best.
He’s made it Clear that he will only ride for a team and not privateer across America in a Sprinter. So I suspect that will decide where he goes.

Who knows....but thats something that makes being a motocross nut even more fun..we r all so wrapped up in what Dean Ferris...is up to....nobody else could give a damn...
One thing's for sure, Id rather be wrapped up in folliwing my favourite riders in my favourite thing in my life than being wrapped up in who's doing what in some stupid reality cooking show or home renovation show..etc etc..

The JGR deal fell apart so he came home, and now he's been offered the fill-in on the #461 machine so he must've taken that option

Bullshit, PJ, you must be "at the schnapps" if you don't know of the career numbers of at least a few of the World Championships riders......Whistling

Febvre has had quite a few injuries since his championship season so as it stands he sits 461st in points.. hope this helps.

Also look at the GP riders that ride Yamaha 450 all hurt. Look at Webb couldn't do anything on a Yamaha went to KTM and bam may be supercross champ, so is it the bake?

If this is true, I wonder why the JGR deal didn’t work out? What the hell is that team going to do for outdoors? Go the MCR route and do SX only this year?

Seems like a massive amount of money to spend on one guy that doesn’t seem to be motivated to race at 100% nearly every weekend.
