If so, what round?
Does he finish the season, or take the record for career starts, then ride off into the sunset?
He really has nothing to prove, and it can’t be any fun for a rider with his pedigree to be getting smoked every weekend.

Experience is what that dude has , in spades.
I just can't imagine someone with the major accomplishments that Reed has giving two shits about holding the record for most starts.
The Shop
To have the most starts means he was among the fastest 20 SX riders in the world for the longest amount of time to add that to his other stats kinda improves them in my brain
it COULD happen. I think a win is possible, but he has to 100%. and i couldnt tell you what round that will come in
I've been a big chad fan, but Im just wondering why he doesnt retire? He isnt competitive.
In the last 2 years (since Feb. 15th 2016) he has 2 podiums (ATL Feb. 26, 2016 and Phoenix Jan. 28, 2017), if you include all of 2016 and 2017 he has 4, with 2 more of those being early in 2016. What happened to the king of podiums?? He got old and the young guys are pretty fast too, maybe its more of Chad getting old, but either way he can't even get on the podium, it kind of hurts to watch this great racer going out not competitive.
His last win was literally 3 years ago on Feb. 21st, 2015.
Chad wont win another main unless all the stars align correctly. That is Tomac out, Roczen out, Musquin, Anderson, and you might as well throw in Seely, Baggett, and Barcia all out or down in turn 1. Heck, i think Peick would win before Reed would.
From what I recall Larocco was more competitive than Reed while racing his last say 2-3 seasons. Reed is hardly cracking the top 5 in the past 2 years.
As has been stated before, if everyone in the field that is as “uncompetitive” as CR22 is currently retired, there would be a lot of empty gates!
Sure he is past his prime, Championship winning form, but with an injury, and it’s effect on his preparation and current pace, I wouldn’t write him off for better results than we have seen lately.
As he heals up, gets back in better shape and gets the totally new (to him) bike sorted, better results should come.
He deserves the record if he can continue to make the mains each week. The record states nothing about finishing position....if he can make the mains all the power to him for being that consistent for so many years. Good for him!

Chad is always one of those 22.
More than 22 come to qualify for the main.
They don't.Chad does.
With that assessment-why the fuck should he retire!?
Once he is fit I say look out!
Will he win? Don't know but podium before the end of the season.
Stupid comment, so stupid.
