What was the story behind the Factory 909 line? I remember some of that stuff being pretty cool and popular back in the day. Was Factory 909 an in house effort from FMF? It was just bars, grips and handguards right?

I remember that stuff. Always wanted to run their handguards and grips. Never did but I had tons of their stickers. I always felt like they just disappeared without a word

I think I had a set of those handlebars back in the day. Probably on my YZ426.

I think it was a side venture of fmf and the name came from the area code the business was in.. I believe..

Their bars were horrendous. I remember completely snapping 2 pair right at the bar mount, one with no crash.

It was a cool brand, sure came and went in a hurry.

we made the triple clamps for them, hundreds of sets. We lost a lot of money on that deal. Think we still have some up in the attic.

Ran their palm pad red and yellow grips for ages on mini bikes and pit bikes. The first dual compound grips I know of.

Is that right? That sucks.

Why not put whatever you guys have left for sale to recover a portion of what you invested in making them?

Price them right and they'll sale.

Alright, since I brought the selling subject along and he's already got 2 potential Vital sell I need a commission lol.

Either that or a free pair of clamps for the '08 RM 250 sitting in my buddy's garage. Only fair lol.

But seriously if it was me I'd list them for sale. Much better than having them sit there collecting dust. They're already made and set to go.

Let us know for which bike it's for.

Would you do one off sets? RM clamps to fit RMZ forks?

sorry no, we only did it cause we all rode bikes and thought it was cool. It was more of a side project. They wanted them for like $33 each. We made top and bottom, bar mounts, all the stuff. Just couldn't make any money. But we did get a killer discount on FMF stuff!! haha

I'm willing to bet you didn't torque down those bar mount bolts.

to be fair, I remember something like, it retailed for $99. So we sold it for $33, the middle man bought it for $66 and the dealers sell it for $99. Kind of how it worked back then. I could be off some. It wasn't anyones fault, just didn't work out. They were super cool to work with and I buy their stuff still today. Great guys!

Area Code 909
That's what I figured since that's California thing but it isn't the FMF area code now so I wasn't sure
