I was trying to figure out who Husky(KTM) might have contest the outdoors and couldn't really come up with anyone.

I think once the silly season has begun they will move one of their KTM guys over there (Dungey or Musquin). But who knows? Maybe they will offer something to a guy like Paulin? He has said he would like to race in America.

It should be interesting, and I think it's only a matter of time before there is a white KTM with some Scandinavian graphics out there.

I predict BTO Sports will be Husky's factory effort. It will be BTO Sports Husqvarna

That's a really good point! Have one satellite team for each brand. Rockstar staying with KTM.

They told us at the Husqvarna dealer meeting there were plans to race the US Supercross and outdoor series. Noticed on the website that a Moto 3 team was testing bikes. GP and off road teams in Europe and the US are already racing.

rockstar husqvarna. just a guess but it would make sense if there is tension from red bull about ktm having another factory team sponsored by a competing energy drink

Mike will not be racing Baja. He was already wanting out before Caselli's crash. He wants to ride some outdoors if homologation rules allow.

I'd heard a rumor that one of the current KTM support teams could be a Husky team next year. Pick your favorite.

To me, makes much more sense to give the Rockstar squad some fresh white Husqvarna's. The reason is the one you stated above, Red Bull will be always involved with KTM so I don't get why they shouldn't be uncombortable with another energy drink sponsoring the same brand.

My guess is two factory teams, KTM with Dungey and Roczen and one guy per coast in the 250's and Husqvarna with one guy in 450 and two in 250.

Then BTO satellite KTM and Rockstar satellite Husqvarna.

Team Ice One Husqvarna in MXGP (Rattray / Waters) is sponsored by Red Bull too.

That's a win win for Rockstar and KTM. KTM gets their new brand rooted in a successful team with top tier riders, and KTM will probably increase their support for the lone 'Husky' brand.

Here's the catch though......

Right now it's seems like a great idea to run Huskys. 'They're just white KTM's and KTM's are good' ...... But what happens when the technology makes a split and the bikes are not the same? It's only a matter of time until the bikes aren't identical anymore, and who wants to be a team with an all new bike that will be unproven for the most part?

Maybe KTM will roll out prototype stuff into the husky brand to try it out before mass production on KTM's too?

It should be interesting to see how the company handles the tech split and model differences once the brands aren't clones anymore.

The 2015 Husqvarna's will be out in early summer. There should be some individuality other than a rebadged Husabergs on the
15 models according to my dealer.

This is just a guess but I don't think for MX the bikes will stray very far from each other. If they do it would be a long time coming given how far KTM has progressed with the current bike. I will say this, there is no doubt that this whole experience has helped KTM with all their bikes. Their learning curve has really accelerated. I think all of us can see that the bikes are getting better. Its made a huge difference in MX sales too. I have sold more MX bikes in the last 2 years that I did in the previous 10.

Supposedly in 2015 there will be a lot more differences between the the KTM and the Husky than the plastic, too.

I don't know much but BTO Husky seems like a better fit than Rockstar because I'm sure Husky wants their bikes to be seen in their colours close to stock rather than change them to black and yellow. Wouldn't be the best way to roll out a new bike to the public by changing the look of it away from what the public will buy.

Actually the current Husqvarna plastics are from a Husaberg.
