He does a great job but a pressure washer & Soda Blaster would cut down prep time a huge amount. Stripping it down by hand takes forever........

Not to mention rinsing off all of that WD-40 isn't exactly great for the environment.

Der, that’s why you do it at the car wash or your neighbor’s lawn.

Had the bike in the bed of the truck after an indoor ride, road salt/brine corroded the frame a bit so I cleaned it up and couldn't stop myself.

If you are wiling to put in the elbow grease you can make aluminum look really good without polishing

I like the brushed stock look. Hate the shiny mirror look.

Same here. Leave mirror finishes for Harley’s.

FYI...If you spray the polished radiator with Eagle One it will take on a factory looking finish.

First I acid wash them, i use napa aluminum bright personally. Then start with the marroon scotchbrite, followed with the grey scotchbrite. Once the surface is super smooth and clean and you have made sure all of your grain marks from the scothbrite are going the same direction, hit it with SOS pad. I will burn up an entire SOS pad on eash radiator. Once you have SOS padded them the finish has that glisten to it in light but under normal conditions looks just like a a really good brushed job. Here is that frame i posted as it was going together. Engine was done with the same process also while it was apart.

And here is some KTM stuff done with the same process

It’s that most people that wave the flag are hypocrites and don’t fully understand what it is that they are actually advocating for but man it surely sounds cool...

i.e. You do realize that there are open tubes on your dirtbike that release hydrocarbons while you are riding it???

Like MX216 mentioned above Napa Alumibrite is the business. Just keep away from steel as it will brighten it up but remove any coatings and rust right away. I also have some marine aluminum cleaner for really heavy stuff that makes Alumibrite look like mouthwash.
There are all kinds of cool marine products for aluminum both for cleaning and coating.
A Dremel or 1/8 mandrel rotary with the right bits will make cleaning the nooks and crannies go much faster. So much stuff available on ebay it's crazy............

This Napa brite looks pretty good. Do you just spray it on, let it soak and then rinse off? Or do you scrub with it?

I use to spray down my plastic before races with either WD-40 or babyoil. It made the plastic shine and also made rinsing dirt off a lot easier.

Either one. If just surface then spray one & pressure wash off. Deeper stains and such scrubbing helps. It's probably same/similar as the Eagle One stuff shown in video. Works good for stained white plastics also......

The eagle one requires scrubbing regardless. Sounds like that napa stuff might be stronger?

The eagle ones strength is being a good cleaner without harming rubber or plastic parts.
