I changed my mind on that project and decided to put it on hold. I was excited about it too but it was going to be a lot of work and I have a lot going on right now with medical stuff. I still have the powder coated frame but that's about as far as I got with it.

Is it Easy too cold start without choke? :-) And is the "tunnel" deleted from both sides of the carb?

Usually about 3 kicks here in So Cal.

The entire choke tunnel was epoxied shut and blended smooth with the intake bell.

i just spent the last 5 hours reading everything about this build and i'm amazed by the detail and parts you have on it. I am a long time reader of vital but now its time to make an account a tell you how much of a joy it was to read this and i appreciate it a lot and have a build of some sorts myself. I'm wanting to ask where did you get them dunlop tyre stickers from? I want them on my bike for a photo shoot when it's done.

I’m from Tasmania, I live like 5 minutes from the Penguin (Blackwood Park) motocross track which is my local and I’m sure you’ve heard of it. We’ve held some big events in the past, the 2015 A4DE, several Australia MX nationals, junior nats in 04 and got the junior nats again for next next year. Currently I’m on 2014 Honda CRF 250R and got a 2007 CR125 that I’m close to finishing, it’s currently rideable but it needs a few little things until I’m happy with it and then I will post it on the bike builds section here for everyone’s leisure. What about you?

The tire stickers are for teams and sponsored riders only. I managed to get a set and I know one other guy on here who got a set.

They are hard to come by and I promised to not share my supplier in terms of getting them.Dry

Try Dunlop agency in you country. And send them cake.. Laughing

Whatever happened to this bike? Blackdiamond-still have it? Ride it? Race it? Saw it on the MXA website recently and remember their write up on it. Just curious.

I asked him about it and he sold it.
I would imagine the mxa article had the phone ringing.

I just saw that MXA included the bike in their "Two Stroke Hall of Fame" issue this month. It was cool to see but I am not going to lie, I miss that bike. She was a beauty and definitely something special. I am enjoying working on my two new TM builds currently but it will be really hard to top this thing.

Congrats BD, a lot went into that bike and some came out as well. The bike could be put on a showroom floor and only the "In The Know" would know it's age. Very cool of MXA.

Very Cool !!! Glad to see the acknowledgement the bike got with your hard work put in paying off. I'm interested in your thoughts on how the TM250 stacks up in comparison once it's been completed.

I am set up as a dealer for the ignitions and the ignition would still work on a stock motor but we would obviously program it with a different map for that setup. Depending on how labor intensive the programming becomes it will retail for somewhere between $400-$450

Can I still get this?

This bike did not have a coolant recovery tank. It was vented straight to the ground.

How the fuck have i missed this build?!

Just spent the last hours reading everything and man, you are a wizard! Blown away by every small detail you did on this bike and your fab skills!

Hands down the best build i’ve ever seen. You make us others look like fools with our projects 😂

I would almost sell my house and pay you to build my honda!

I appreciate the kudos but there is no such thing as a bad CR 250 build. They will go down in history as on of the best moto bikes ever made.

Honda should be ashamed of themselves for stopping production of them.

They are for sure grat bikes! Sold my new kawasaki 2 years ago and bought my CR250 and is the only bike i own now and race it, it is a much appreciated bike at the races, everobody loves seeing a old honda here since there are not many.

A quick question, when you did the spring delete to the RC valve, do you need any other mods or anything to the servo motor, or you just need two right side cables? Thinking about doing that myself since i need new cables anyway.

Temecula Quality Plating did the nickel plating and the bolts are from Racetech Titanium.
