I was wondering how long this free ride would last. Online retailers will now have to collect taxes.

Alito and RBG agree on a decision but yet it’s still considered a political issue ?

I hope you’re trolling

In related Moto affecting news, The German automakers have agreed to let the US makers sell in Germany without tariffs. Wink The Art of War. The sky is not falling.

Genesis, Kia and Hyundai top the JD Powers reliability rankings for the 1st time. Anyone old enough to remember laughing at Japanese auto and motorcycle quality?

Someone, an insider, tried to sabotage Teslas's manufacturing software. There are big powers that DO NOT want electric vehicles to succeed.

Small businesses will get reamed once again by onerous rules that require them to take on massive amount of red tape to remain in compliance, that's how.

It is possible you posted this response in the wrong thread? I have no idea how what you just said relates to the story OP posted.

I wouldn't think it would be that complicated.

Just get an ap or program that automatically calculates it in the cart like they already do for shipping and sales in their state that they already had to collect.

While it might cost some a little more ( I live in tn, which uses a high sales tax to offset a lack of a state income tax) I do think this helps eliminate an advantage that online sellers had over brick and mortar stores.

Not paying online sales tax is the closest most people come to having a good accountant.

It took me a minute to understand why you see this as good news for dealers. I don't know if sales tax is the real difference maker though. The big online sales houses really beat them on price and I think that is the real factor in buying online (not to mention you can have anything delivered to your doorstep the next day).

I am no fan of taxes, and I want consumers to have the best choices possible and let them decide. Whatever the state taxes are (8% in TX) that is a very difficult challenge for retail stores to compete against, and they are long overdue some relief from unfair competition.

Direct from China and other countries products are also a big part of our online purchases, and it is unlikely anyone will reel them in, although the tariff "negotiations" going on right now are an attempt to do so. We shall see.
