Does anyone know what kind of grip tape k-dub runs? Ive been running stomp and im having to cut the back after every ride. Its a pain in the arse. They work good in cold weather, but in hot weather they loose the bond to whatever you put em on.

Factory effex sells the grip tape in sheets. Depends on what bike you have some places sell the tape pre cut to the model I used stomp grip its more expensive so i use the sheets and its way cheaper and not to bad to replace that often pull it off and put on goo be gone let dry and replace the new sheet Good Luck!

The 2 12x 7 sheets for $35? Ya thats what I bought too. They have a good feel when your riding, but I cant get them to stick in a lot of spots.

I use the stomp grip and love that stuff! Don't have any problems with it just make sure the area is clean when you put it on and it won't come up.

Also what works extremely good and I used it for years is "Deck tape".

two different kinds here....but both work great!

1.) deck tape for skate boards , that you can get online or a skate shop.

2.) deck tape they sell at places like home depot or ACE Hardware for an actual deck.....like your back deck on your house or something. Makes great traction on like slick steps and so forth.

And it IS NOT $35.00 for two little sheets.....it's about 10% that cost!

The Shop

i'll second the deck tape, but I stopped using it because it's like taking sand paper to your boots and pants. awsome grip but wears out your gear really fast.

AH....ok , I know which stuff you are talking about , and yes....the "Sand" paper stuff does tear the hell out of your pants and boots. There was another kind , that instead of sand , it's a real rough plastic of some sort. It was really close to the stuff you can buy through a bike shop. I did use the sand paper deck tape as well.....and you guys were right , it tore the shit out of the sides of my boots and insides ( inside knee ) of my pants within just a couple rides. But it worked like super glue...HAHA!

Check out our roughneck laminate we provide....

-Our ROUGHNECK material is also custom made for off road racing applications and has the same LSE adhesive. The difference is the top coating. It has a flat, rough finish designed to last longer than anything on the market. Protects against boots and knee braces rubbing through to the plastic.

ok here is a funny story on these lines.

Was at a race at MXP in Columbia MO and Doug Stone drove in from racing a SX the night before. For SX He would run a couple strips of the grip tape front to back of his seat to keep him forward on the bike. Well I guess it was something new as in his 1st race he sanded threw his pants and sanded his butt raw!

I know how it feels to be frustrated with the tape you purchased. Stickers should stick on surfaces as much as you want and of course, it will also be important to make sure that you will be able to get rid of it without leaving any residue whenever you want.

Trust a "tape supplier" to dig up a year old thread.
