More information. This is what Lewis Phillips from MX Vice tweeted a few minutes ago:

"Hearing very different reports about how long Jeffrey will be out for... I guess we’ll wait for the next PR."

An answer to a guy who asked if the 4 month rumor is true, "I’ve heard the worst-case scenario from someone reliable and it isn’t that bad..."

Get well soon JH!

2013 - Missed multiple GP's through injury. Won world title.
2014 - Missed multiple GP's through injury. No title.
2015 - Missed multiple GP's through injury. No title.
2016 - Missed multiple GP's through injury. Won world title.
2017 - Pre-season injury, slow to start season. No title.
2018 - Missed a GP through injury. Won world title.
2019 - Pre-season injury, may miss a GP or more as a consequence.

He'll eclipse the likes of Everts in wins but not titles unless he can change this trend!
Bringing this up inst ripping on anyone...

Hes already made his point hes the fastest guy alive right now, Stewart did too. Now the smartest thing he can do is just keep that speed on tap for when he needs to use it... not using it every race. Self preservation. The 1 thing all the FMOTPs have at 1 point is very serious injuries. Eli, Roczen, RV...etc. Its inevitable, but the ones who go on to be very successful and multi time champs back it down a bit winning by 5 seconds vs 30, taking a podium, and if they crash on a start ending up in last then they can uncork that lightning speed passing their way up to the front. Slow is smoothe, smoothe is fast...

Unfortunately this guy probably won’t ride that long. Injury year after year has to take a toll on you mentally.

I think he will be back by the first GP. I think he will gut it out at Argentina and salvage points. Round two isn't till late March. Two months he should be fine.

Similar to how the Americans react at every MXoN since 2012

KTM teammanager Dirk Gruebel says this injury for 'a normal guy' would be 6-8 weeks... But Herlings might just be there in Argentinia

Expectation is 6 weeks, he had broken his talus bone (Just under the shinbone).
However, he is in very good conditionr so who knows how fast he recovers.
The bike slid away on a slippery track, regained traction and threw him off the bike. At that point he came with that foot against a rock/stone.
