So he shatterd the top of his foot and his mechanic Ruben said he is out for an estimate of 2 to 4 months.
If he misses to much Gp's and he wil be out of the championship contention i can't see any reason to go ride Gp's to be honest. He calls himself the fantast man on the planet.
If there was ever a good time to go outdoors it should be this year

Edit: Just to clarify, this is if Herlings misses a bunch of rounds
The Shop
would love to see him race a full AMA season , dont think its going to happen ....
Pit Row
Ktm team said the healing time is approx 6weeks. He will be in the hunt for the title.
He will be Allright and will not race the great outdoors. (Would be amazing tho)
But he may play smart and wait till Matterley which is 8 weeks away and round 2, this would give him 6 weeks rest then 10 day to get back on the bike and ready for the season, the good thing with broken bones in the foot (not the ankle) is that you can heavily strap/and protect the foot (even stiffer/thicker leather they can hand make boots to suit).
I have had a rider with a complete tib fib compound break come back to race after 6 weeks (with no pin, plate or magic, just natural healing) he came back and lead the race but was a bit rusty.
I am sure he is motivated not only to win a another title but to also to stop Cairoli equalling Stefans 10 World title as I am sure he would want to be the one to do that.
But also the foot is a very complex part of the body and he has to also think of long term damage. its anyone guess but it will definitely spiced up the pre season motivation for the other MXGP riders who may change training tactics to go all out for an explosive start rather that thinking of the long season stratedy.
He had one good season, won a championship, and now it's an expectation for some reason? The same can be said for Febvre.
Post a reply to: Herlings out for 2-4 months, Outdoors seems more interesting than Gp's ??
