We know the price listed, but realistically- on leftover 2019 or even 2018 models (250f's), how much will they knock off the sticker price (if anything)?

There's alot of variables to answer that question, brand, region, TTL / Fees, etc.

Start looking on cycletrader to get an idea of dealers in the country and what they are discounting to, I wouldnt expect anything super awesome or meaningful just yet, usually closer to the fall once the 2020's are already on the floor.

Depends on brand, location, etc. Kawi and Zuke dealers start knocking off about $2K before new ones come out. In my area Honda, not so much. Yamaha I dont know. KTM/Husq are not going to budge in my area, youre gonna pay MSRP.

My local Kawi/KTM dealer has a '19 KX450 for $7899 plus tax, if you pay cash its $7899OTD.

They also had a '19 KTM 250XCF for $8499, 300XC for $8699

My dealer doesn't charge any BS fees either.

Wish dealers around here were like that. When I was shopping for a new bike I was pretty much told that if I wasn't financing I might as well pound sand. They were even reluctant to sell a bike for cash instead of financing, let alone do a deal for cash.

It all depends on the dealer level. You want a high level or high volume dealer for the best prices.

I don't find that to be true in my area, my local KTM dealer sells bikes anywhere from 400-800 below msrp and they are very small volume.

For example, MSRP on a 2019 KTM 300XC is 9299, I paid 8699.

Yep, that's not what I'd consider a good deal. Should be able to get one out the door just over $7k. Kawi has rebates that kick in every year around April / May.

That’s a good deal depending on the final cost. I’m a car dealer. Used cars and I anything I buy new, trucks or bikes, I usually go out of state. I would love to find a local dealer that sells what I’m looking for but I think it depends on volume.

My brother is a Kawi/Polaris dealer. He priced his last 19 450 to me for $7290 plus tax. He's old school. No hidden fees, just tax and a small doc fee.
Maybe that's why he sells a shit ton of SxS's, makes a good living,
and the dealership is 46 years old (started by our Dad in 1973)

I picked up a 19 KTM 350sxf for $8690 otd including tax. You just have to watch buying out of state and not paying taxes in that here in FL as you can’t get a title and I’ve heard that the state eventually will come knocking at your door for the tax as they eventually find out.

Sounds like if I ever go green again, I’ll be buying through your brother and have it shipped to me. $400 setup fee is absolutely ridiculous when all they put on it the bars and front wheel.

Not true. I always bought out of state, and in April. Kawi always has rebates and i paid 6k OTD for a 13, 7k for a 16, and back in 11 5600 which was a 250f. I bought my 19kx450 back in November from a local dealer because they backed my team green app, and gave me more on trade than I was even asking plus discounted new bike to invoice. Even paying the tax on the difference I came out ahead of selling out right and buying out of state in April with team green and trade value.

Anyways, they wanted a NYS registration (proof of ownership in NY, they keep the MSO, transferable reg is essentially your title). They wanted me to go register it to trade it in. I specifically asked the DMV in person if I traded this bike in to a dealer with an Ohio title if NYS would come after me for the 7k I paid for it 2.5 years prior. I was told absolutely not, and if anybody were to get pinched, it would be the dealer in Ohio, who sold me a new bike, kept the MSO, and issued me an Ohio title.

There was a thread on here a little while back where quite a few people had to pay sales tax several years after buying their bike out of state. I’ve been told by several places, and I’m sure the state will say the same, that the original buyer is responsible for paying sales tax. And considering now with new sales tax laws that are coming into law, (companies being required to report out of state sales) it will be more common that sales tax will catch up to you.

I think it depends on the state/dealer, I know back about 10yrs ago when I lived in Alabama I bought my bikes in GA. Never paid tax, the owner of the dealership emailed me one day and said if you buy another bike next year I'll have to charge you sales tax because the state is checking our records and we have to report every sale or we get fined. About that time I moved back to TN and just bought bikes locally. I did buy a Yamaha a few years later in GA and paid cash for it, 2yrs after that I got a letter in the mail from TN asking for the taxes to be paid on that bike (I didn't even own it anymore). I paid the taxes (no penalty) and moved on. It's the government boys, they eventually find out.
