How much fork spring preload? KX450F with önlins cartridges.

Hi. Like to hear from experiences how much spring preload works for individual cases. I have 2017 Kawi 450 with öhlins cartridges in. Fork springs are 51. My weight 80kg.
Read that many people put 2mm preload and happy with that. Öhlins same time recomends 8mm of preload.
All thoughts are very wellcome!

Here CRF250 2015 with Ohlins cartridges, 83kg, 4,7N/mm and 9mm preload. In mounting instructions is minumum preload 4mm, for my bike recommended 8-11mm. I like front end traction with this setup only maybe to harsh on small chops. Faster you go better Ohlins cartridges work. I am too slow Smile

For small chops harshness some guys tried lower preasure fro 5 to 4 bars. I tried but didn't notice difference

How much did your inserts set you back if you don't mind me asking?

Sorry - dont understand question, but if you mean how much it cost, then 600 euros, springs included Smile . Used set of course.

Thanks. I thought that small chop will be an issue. I played with preload on my cone valve forks and with 5mm and above preload small chop came an issue.

I have some out of the 2013 SFF RMZ, they would fit but would need to be revalved. What weight are you? I have the fork springs also

Will wait for spring and play with preload. Now due to whether ridable are only sand tracks and there I have no problems
