So I recently went to the track a few days ago for my first time. Never rode a dirt bike much before that, so it probably was not a good decision to go on the tack but it was super fun so I don’t care. I had a few questions though. 1st for the picture I sent, is that how far back my butt should be or forward for when going around turns. Yes I know I should probably be closer to fuel tank but it felt kinda uncomfortable. Next would be for jumping. I don’t have a picture but when I was riding and went over a jump, I did get 2 tiers in the air about 90% of the time. But I didn’t go from the face of one ramp to the face of another, just went off and landed on flat ground. I noticed that my front tire liked to really hit the ground first. Now is this because my body is not in a good position? I did try to move my butt back when in the air, or is it because that I just wasn’t

If you’re turning, nuts on the tank bro.

Elbows up and weight the outside peg.

You need to scoot up to where you’re just behind the dip in your seat. Elbows up and balls of your feet on the pegs. You’ll have the most control over the bike with the least energy exerted. It’s a win win.

IMO...a little more forward. Your elbows look too extended (from what I can see through your hoodie). Scoot a little more forward on the seat with a little more bend in your elbows. This will weight the front so that you turn better and it will allow you more forward/backward motion while hanging onto the bars when hitting bumps.

Way too far back. You should be way up front in the "pocket" of the seat on that YZ

Weight as far forward as possible in the corners. You want weight on the front wheel in the turns.

Almost sitting on the rear fender could probably take the seat off and use the fender!

I don’t put where I really live cause there is no need. Also, been gaining weight to all the people saying that. I use to be over weight (200, but that was fat, not anything good.) and I’m now starting to gain muscle and such.

I thought I was sitting to far back. It’s just if I sit to far forward I can’t get my feet with the boots under under the shifter. I do use the balls of my feet when on the pegs but I still find it hard to move them down

That’s more or less the issue. I read on it and people just said it’s a bad idea to raise it because you will need to raise your foot to down shift. Was thinking of getting the longer shifter, people said that helped

Some like to load the front, some others like to seat in the middle. There's not right or wrong. The bigger you are the more comfortable you will be in the middle.

You missed a golden opportunity to build a lot of muscle as you lost.
