Recent memory for me is within last 10 years...and i rate 2011 season as best in recent memory.

The start of this season is reminding me of the start of 1997. Emig, McGrath, Henry, Larry Ward, Lusk. They were really going at it till midway until things started to fall apart. But 2011 was pretty good too.

Last year’s at this point was much better. Red plate had swapped numerous times and the top four of Musquin/Webb/Roczen/Tomac were all within 10 points, swapping positions each round.

It is the best in most people's memory because moto fans can barely remember last year, which is why every year they say dumb stuff like "deepest field ever"

I will say that the return of bowl turns has dramatically improved the tracks. The past few years in my mind have been exciting due to great track layouts that are safer and more conducive to passing.

It’s always great when there’s not one rider dominating right out of the box...when there are several strong riders who can & do win at any given event. Great racing so far this year!

Reminds me of 05 I think. Got a guy on a green bike that's lightning fast. Got a legend riding a honda about to retire. Has a reigning champ with a chip on his shoulder with tons of attitude and heart. And a guy who had some injury/ illness the prior year looking to make a comeback to the top.

This season there's more that can win though.

Won't know until the season is complete, but it looks so far like it has the potential to be the closest and best season ever. I agree with the guy who said the 2011 season was the best ever. To this point at least.

Not sure but it is pretty dang good in both classes, and the tracks have all provided great racing too. If everyone stays healthy then it could well end up as one of the better series of all time. Fingers crossed.

Not even halfway in the 450’s so things could change from close to pulled away by halfway.

To early to say. Last season was also very good early on. But yes so far it’s shaping up to be an excellent season

AC, Anderson, Webb, Maclom, and a few others have really developed into good riders that were needed to fill the RV, Dungey gap and challenge for wins. We have a very strong field this year, with ~5 guys who are expected to win any given weekend and another 10-12 or so riders that can easily race from ~4th back.

The 250 class is shaping up to be a great 3-way championship battle between Forkner, Dylan, and Copper. Hoping they can all stay healthy and Cooper can get that mental monkey off his bike, he's been lucky to salvage major points after relatively poor showings in the last 2 rounds.

I also think Dirt Wurx has done a much better job this year changing the track with different characteristics from week to week. This is a big reason why we have several different winners in each class this year, preventing any of the big dogs from going on an early season win streak.
