That one of Marty, Bob, and Roger is up there for sure. I knew a guy that had that done as a mural on the side of his '70s van.

I had forgotten about that one but it is awesome. My fave is the classic shot of Hannah coming out of gravity cavity.

Look how bone dry that Saddleback track was; you can't even tell the difference between the track and the access roads!.....the spoiled punks today would freak out with those conditions! This was the famous suicide double taken in 1984 the year Saddleback closed. I'm was somewhere out there on the track when this pic was taken.........probably about to get lapped by Bailey!

YES! It has long been my personal favorite, as it defines moto in its purest form. Not to mention I was a 7th grader obsessed with all things MX, especially with Suzuki's success in the late 70's. The expanded pic also includes Howerton, Croft, and was it Gassin' Gaylon as well? I can't recall.

DeCoster already signed it...the only one missing is Bob's, (and LaPorte's, if you wanna get technical) and I'm not gonna chase him down for it. Whoever buys it can do that!

Three of the biggest icons in MX history at a time when the sport was beginning to explode with popularity, all in one pic.

Pat Maroney. Hangtown. Sniped the poster off eBay a couple years ago.
Had to go to Matthes to figure out who it was after losing hair on
Google searching.

Thanks gonemoto, that kind of stuff will make me search for hours on google also. Cool

There is a photo that I'm surprised I don't see in this thread, cant remember the two riders but they are banging bars in a corner, it was a popular photo, I want to say Weinert and Tripes, but not sure.

I originally thought it would be easy to figure out who it
was after I finally got the poster in my hands, but damn if there
weren't a load of guys wearing that same kit mid 70's.
There are some good web sites with Pat featured and he
seemed to be quite the badass back in the day.

About 10-15 years ago, Rick Doughty of Vintage Iron recreated that photo. Took more than one gate drop! One of the mags did a write up on it.
