Mc= “mac” if followed by a vowel
Mc= “mic” if followed by a consonant
Don’t think this always is the case, but it seems to be most of the time

I remember when reading about Justin Barcia as an amateur and always assumed that his name would rhyme with Garcia. Never imagined it would rhyme with Marcia until I heard the announcers saying it that way.

With McGrath the ‘c’ and ‘G’ blend together but its still mic and not mac. So it would be Mic-El-rath.
But then theres the golfer Rory McIlroy pronounced Mackle-roy so who knows. As someone said English is screwy...
