JGR needs to demonstrate their worthiness. Honda is not getting involved unless they are confident there can be a good return on their investment. JGRs track record has not been stellar. Just my personal opinion.

I highly doubt JGR is going Honda way, although nothing surprises me much in the industry these days

I think this came up in the past and JGR had to follow to Toyota line.

Honda doesn’t exactly have a great recent record either. When was their last premier class title?
Meanwhile the Suzuki’s have proven competitiveness. There’s usually two or three near the front every start. The only thing holding JGR back from better results at the moment is the lack of an elite rider.

Elite rider, JS7, CR22, JB51, WP47 and more.

They appear to have have many oportunities to win races or Titles.

If we talk Zook lemme remind you that KR '16 MX title and JS '14 SX season groping the field in plenty of races are sadly more than what Honda has done in a long time in the 450. If we talk JGR, well there's not much to remind /:

I would say the utter lack of results is probably a good starting point.

JGR

They have had lots of time, talent and $$ to prove that they are a top tier team. They have never showed that in their results.

Honda would defiantly have an SX title and probably an MX title if Roczen didn't get hurt so badly. Those first few rounds in 17' SX where insane watching Roczen.

It might be a good match. Since Joe Gibbs Racing started their motocross team back in 2008, JGR and Honda have won exactly the same number of premier class titles.

I will give you JS7 (who had wins for them) and even a push on Barcia (who had wins for them), but neither Peick nor 2019 Reed were remotely title or even race win contenders

I thought cr 22 did really well for them , its not like he was ment to be winning championship s for them . WP 47 over achieved for them imo . They where unlucky to be on the first gen Yamaha when they had js7 . As for JB51 that was a terrible signing. Because they signed him to win the championship. Or at least top 3 . Imo that was never going to happen . Remember dungey and RV were still racing. All thats holding JGR back is a rider . People are saying JS17 is nt doing as well as the kawi last year . But jeoey was great in SX on the kawi . I remember him having not a great outdoors on the kawi . Plus we hav AC and Sexton this year . Unfortunately for them , every rider who can win a championship is already signed . Would like to see joey in sx , i think he could get top 5 and some podium s

Bringing Honda on as a partner would be opposed to their apparent racing and development strategy of starting with the worst bike possible.

It has to deal with his nickname. And when threads are a waste of time this kind of pic gets posted.
