Who else thinks Savatgy could stay an elite racer for the next 6-7 years? He seems to have a Dungey like style in the way he is usually near the front, even though he may not be the fastest guy. I don't remember him having many "yard sale" like crashes for a guy who runs near the front.
Glad he is off to such a good start this year. Love watching how smooth he rides.

He will be a solid 450 guy. He's been given a lot of lessons (similar to Dungey's early 250F seasons) and come close to a few championships, if he takes the next step and wins the West he could take that momentum forward.
And some of his interviews have been funny
Like I'm jealous of Plessingers long legs
Lol good stuff
GO Joey !!
You can get this
Imo biggest threat for this title is Mclerath
He is on point this yr
The Shop
His been on the best team 250 team last few years and seem to have reached his potential...
Don't see him being a contender in the 450... Class
Be solid 2nd guy on a team...think will have similar speed to tickle....
Turns 24 next month, well seasoned, groomed by the top people in the sport, good technique. Whatever happens I hope he gets a shot at racing 450s with a strong team.
Except for AC I am hope i he wins this year. And out of AC and Savatgy I would bet on Joey. When AC is in the top I am just waiting for that small unnecessary crash, but thats another thread
The thing that drives me nuts about Savatgy is his little attitude when he doesn't win. Probably not the way he intends it to come off, but it seems like he feels entitled to the win. I wish he would appreciate being on the podium.
Pit Row
I see more of Davalos in Savatgy. Had opportunities to finish the job but just found a way to make it not happen. Davalos is more guilty of this than Savatgy, but JS isn't far behind.
Here’s an off-the-wall question: both Johnny O’Mara and Ricky Carmichael have told me that good starts are almost owed to the best racer. In other words, if you’re the best racer out there, that start is owed to you. At first that didn’t make sense to me, but now it sort of does. What do you think?
I definitely feel that way, especially since we put in a lot of work. I know how much work I’ve put in over the off-season with Johnny O’Mara and Ricky Carmichael and Jeanie Carmichael at the track, and we show up on race day and all of it is definitely on my mind. It’s like I deserve to put myself in a position to win, or at least give myself a chance to win. That’s just kind of the mentality that you show up with. You know, you show up knowing you put in as much work, if not more work, than everyone else on the gate, and you deserve to, at least, give yourself a shot at a good start. I definitely agree with that—even if it’s just kind of a mentality thing.
