My 2016 kx450f has an idle adjustment screw. If i turn it all the way to the right the bike wont start. What does this screw actually do and how should i have it set? The reason i was messing with it was because it takes about 3-4 kicks to start the bike and it only has about 5-7 hours on it. Valve clearence is all fine and I always charge the capacitor before kicking. Any input would be appreciated cheers

Turn the enrichment knob counter clockwise to raise idle. Mine has 35 hours and usually starts 2-3 kick cold. Once warm 1-2 usually. You pull the enrichment knob out when cold.

Your manual will specify how many clicks, but you've essentially turned the enrichment knob all the way down. Bike probably won't start like that. I want to say it's 22 clicks counterclockwise but double check the manual.

Ah sweet thanks. So the higher the idle the easier it will be to start? Also when the bikes flooded is it good to give it a bit of throttle to start? That seemed to work earlier

Ah so it wasn’t flooded it was just to far in. That makes sense. Thanks!

IIRC my manual says 22 clicks out. Or 2000 rpm. Shouldnt have to set it after that.
