No But's, No If's, No asterisks, and a little Herlings dessert for the fans.

Only guy who managed to not lose the red plate this MX series, people will say what they want but it'll probably be the same people who said he should have backed it down in 2015..

SO happy for him. I've been a fan of his since he was on Suzuki waaaaay back so good to see him get it done. It will be tough to defend it next year. But he 100% earned it this year, it wasn't easy that's for sure!

Great that he finally got the title, was the fastest in 2015, came close to the 17 sx title and now finally has a premier class title.

Agreed, he's proved he can do it and even back it off when the bigger picture calls for it. IF Eli gets his race tactics in order without always going balls to the walls the competition is in big trouble.

Which is a almost a 180 from last week. Zacho championship, Cianciarulo first overall and not a big fan fare for Adam. But, Adam rode really well again today and Zach's 1-1 was put an exclamation point on the Championship. Looking forward to next year.

......but he got beat by a guy who's never raced in the US, rookie on a 450, on a borrowed bike he's never ridden, with 1 day of practice, on a track he's never ridden, with massive jumps that favor Americans........just sayin

But so did the rest of the field. But, like OP said...NO BUT'S! Smile

Eli won, fair and square... props to him for sure. At the end it only matters who has the most points... but I have to say, this one smells a bit funny. He has some mental work to do or he's going to be the next great headcase who could have been a great.

Marv was amazing all season.

And it's clear they all have a lot of work to do to catch a Herlings and the other top GP guys outdoors, even in their own back yard.

Yes, congratulations on a third tier Championship,

Well it's not a SX Title, and it's not a GP title ( these guy's are obviously faster)

So congratulations on your Third tier title!

I would guess the pay check doesn't represent a third tier title Tongue

Read a thought provoking tidbit from a fellow fan earlier that fits in so well today - maybe particularly in this thread:

"In motocross, no one wins."

And unfortunately, I find that to be more and more true the longer I read/listen to "fan" comments on the sport. Pretty astonishing that a title was just won and so many people spend time to come on here and try to degrade the meaning of it. I mean, go ahead and do your thing, I just find it a really strange thing for some of you guys to be doing. Seems to me that supporters of this small time, niche sport should/would be a bit more...supportive?....of someone who just won a major national title...but what do I know.

Well, what I do know is what's in the record books, so go ahead and say whatever makes you happy I suppose.

Congrats ET3. Scorecard doesn't show how many hiccups along the way, all we see is the final score - and for him, it's the #1 plate. Well played.
