Always pisses me off when people call RC the GOAT, when MC has 72 sx wins and RC has only 48 sx wins. Stop calling RC the he GOAT cus he's not.

McGrath had 17 wins and 1 Championship outdoors to Carmichaels 102 wins and 10 Championships. MC is no doubt the King of Supercross, but RC is definitely the GOAT of MX overall

And then came Carmichael and it took him a year before he started dominating everyone
Wow twice in one day...

Took RC TWO years. Tongue

MC is the 2nd best dirtbike racer in history. There is no shame in that.

Well considering RC won 15 out of 17 championships entrered it's not even close. Remember RC won his 5th SX title when he was 26. It's not even dabatable RC is the goat, he literally retired MC made it so he could never win a race again at his game and then made sure the 2nd and 4th winningest riders of SX history never beat him for a title.

MC dominated the class for 8 years before RC came along. And when RC DID come along, he got dominated by MC for 2 years. RC didn’t retire MC. MC had been racing Supercross longer than RC actually raced SX before RC even came along.

7 years slick. Sure he beat RC the first two years but RC had no business racing SX in 99 he had only raced two 125 seasons at that point. Like I said 15 out of 17 titles won. No debate. Yes RC retired MC, MC had his second best season in 2000 then RC came along in 01. But the reason you could say MC had his second best season in 2000 could be because Yogi got hurt in round 1 in 2000 still MC would have been title favorite in 2000 any ways.

Not even good bait. Contrary to what a lot of limp wristed snowflakes think, stoopie cross just ain't all that. If it were, why do people want to change the format, reset,,, chase. I find it interesting that MC won so many SX races and titles but none of his little fan boys ever got tired of it then. MC should be very satisfied to be the King of SX. He should also show some grace and accept that his decision to race SX only, excludes him from even being in the running for GOAT. The numbers don't lie, 150 wins, 15 titles, 10 straight outdoor titles, 2 perfect seasons and another season of 12 straight overalls. To put it into perspective, RC's numbers equal MC's and Jeff Ward's put together.

Really? MC only raced 2 seasons in the 125 class. Came in as a rookie and DOMINATED against a much higher stacked field. And thanks for proving my point. RC only raced 7 full seasons of SX. MC had raced that many before RC even showed up and STILL got waxed by the King for 2 years.

You obviously weren’t even born yet when MC was killing everyone. And we all know how 2007 would have turned out had RC raced the full series. He even got smoked his last SC race. Hell, we all know how the 2006 SX season would have ended had RC not whined and bitched about his 25 point fuel infraction. He’s the ONLY racer to ever get one and have it overturned because he said he was going to pick up his ball and go home if they didn’t. That’s fact.

RC was the best outdoors for sure, but MC ruled and continues to rule the stadiums. Period!

MC did 3 seasons on a 125, first in 1990 on a KX125 where he won the final round, then 2 seasons on the PC Peak Honda where he one the title both years,

RC is the best overall racer of all time. Like Park Boys said is MC even in the top 5? What would you rather be the best at motocross or circuscross?

While it may be that nobody dethrones MC in SX, if you use the term "dirtbike racer"
do you have no love for Stefan Everts?

He raced ONE race that year, which was Seattle. He didn’t race the full West Coast. And they only raced 6-7 total rounds then. Not 8. I’d be willing to bet RC has more 125 SX starts than MC does.

he was 8th in points in 1989, with 71 points, bit more than one race,
https://vault.racerxonline.com/1989/sx/points

he was 2nd in points in 1990
https://vault.racerxonline.com/1990/sx/points

and then won the west title in 91 and 92,
https://vault.racerxonline.com/1991/sx/points
https://vault.racerxonline.com/1992/sx/points

he raced 4 seasons in 125's, when they also had 3 or 4 east west races a year,

I was about to put this out there but glad i read all thru the post's toi see scott_nz got it. I always wondered why alot of MC fan's believed 91 was his rookie season and that he raced 125 SX only 2 years

I think you should check your facts first,In 90 thru 92 there were 17 or 18 rounds each year and they had at least 8 or more 125 sx races for each series and a couple of east/west combined rounds.
