So as someone who really admires cool riding montages (really any montages) I’ve thought about buying a camera and recording some buddies and going to races and making moto videos. Anyone here have any advice or knowledge on what camera or editing programs to look into?

Don’t put it to shitty rap or dub music, thats a awesome way to ruin a good edit.. not a lot of slow mo either.

Using a gopro is the cheapest and easiest mainly because of all the angles you are able to get with it. I use Sony Vegas 13 for editing

Very nice! What do you use to stabilize the camera?

How much are you looking to spend?

I don't do much video but from what I've heard this is a good entry level camera that's geared towards video.

*should be $597, link doesn't seem to show the sale

Or the GH4 but then you're going to start spending a bit.. And it gets expensive fast.

You may want a longer lens as well as the 14-42 to get some harder to reach shots depending on where you're shooting.

A decent video tripod and stabilizer will definitely help you out too.

I shoot with a Nikon 5200 .. I dont do much video stuff but the camera is great for itbif i wanted to.
Here is one i did at the Youth Regional. Also if you like Canon i would look at the 7D, another great camera, a step above my 5200. If you look at other riding videos under my son, Lane Mariotti or my YouTube southeastMx page.. The videos of Labe on the Kawi over the last 2 years was shot with the 5200.
