Who's going to take up the heel clicker torch??
Tough luck MM25. Heal up fast.
The only guys that have done better than those three are Dungey, Anderson, and Webb. They all have titles.
Like I said, he's executing just fine on race day.
The Shop
I think kicking a guy while he’s down is more than a bit unnecessary.
Huge bummer... (for so many reasons, i have just deleted a paragraph ...)
Now with Reed possibly on the KTM, it is the only positive thing that comes from it. Reed deserves to leave on a high note so i really hope he will get the opportunity (and be freed up by his current program).
On a side note, I've posted four days worth of 12 Days of MXmas stuff so far this week, where you have a chance to win cool prizes for doing little more than leaving a comment at the end of the story. Have you participated in that?
I didn't think so.
Pit Row
My post history begs to differ with your assessment of my participation but I'll bite.
You know how when you get a new car/bike/gear and you see it everywhere? Well, you decided to clip me for some bs. Now I see clipping people for bs everywhere. And I call out bs when I see it. If you feel that a large portion of my participation is calling you out, then maybe take it as an opportunity to reflect. Or don't. You do you, I'll do me.
It's great that Vital is giving away free stuff, but like most, I am here for the interactions on the forum. Literally have never clicked on your promotional tool. I don't spend my time wandering the site much, and quite frankly, don't spend my time with giveaways and contests in any domain. I can't quite tell though. Are you trying to hold that against me or was your side note simply a "look at me, I do good" comment?
There are times when the Vital MX forum gets a bad rap for people saying really stupid things. Hence the name Vitards. It's not a name I'm crazy about, though some here seem to embrace it. Maybe they're trolling. Maybe they're misinformed. Maybe it's Saturday night and they've been heavily supporting their favorite brewery. I can't always tell.
I also look around at other areas of social media and see so much cringe-worthy stuff. Youtube comments? Instagram comments? Comments on articles on other sites? Some of it's horrible, and it makes me wonder why it runs nearly unchecked.
I was chatting with a PR person from one of the motorcycle manufacturers and was told that no matter how their riders did, there was always one person who would come in and blast them every single week. When I suggested blocking that person, the PR person recoiled and said, "We couldn't do that." Why not? There's social media, and anti-social media. We prefer the latter.
So...
Do I delete stuff that I think is over the line? Yes. We don't need to let blatant anti-social media run rampant. I also tend to delete messages from people who are going back and forth at each other in a way that's unrelated to the topic.
Do I click people who have stepped over the line? Yes again. Are these bans permanent? Not always. But like earlier this week, after a few emails back and forth with the offending party, he's unlocked and back to posting.
I've used the motto, "More of what unites us, and less of what divides us" as sort of a guiding principle lately. If people can work within that? Great! If they can't? That's when more decision-making comes in.
One thing I do know for sure, I don't want this to resemble a lot of what I see on other platforms.
MM who has been close many times and now has to watch a SX season go by late in his career.
Or
Joey Savatgy who was Rookie of the year now out for a good portion of this year with that heel injury.
