I earned a permanent # this year and I'm stumped what to run... 24 was my first racing # back in oz, but I've had 123 since I came to the US.
What should I run? 24 or 123?
actually I can choose from 19, 20, 21, 24, and 28, but the others dont have as much meaning as 24 and 123.

When guys keep the 3 digit it seems like its more "thier" number.
338, 118, 800, 801, 199, etc.
The top 100 get whored out.
When I see 123 i think metty, when I see 24 I think of a few different riders.
2 digit numbers are overrated.
BTW, how did you like the Long Island track & the MTB trails? I'm one of Franco's friends...uh maybe I shouldn't say that. lol
But your question was which one to run-123 is kind of ingrained in us. However, a number change can kind of give you that feeling of newness and excitement so that may be good. Also, you will get more mention during TV broadcasts also because they will say you used to be 123 and now running the 24. Tough call man. 24 for me.
With apologies to Travis Pastrana, Mike and Jeff Alessi, Martin Davalos, Jason Lawrence, etc., I'm not that fond of three-digit numbers as permanent items. That, combined with the fact that you have some history with 24, I think I'd opt for the for the two-digit number.
Although I hatted it at first the perm # thing grew on me. So stick with 123 till you can run 1.
The AMA messed up on this. Think how many programs that are no longer perchaced every year.
Pit Row
The lower you are - the faster you are.
If you were moving up or changing teams, I would say change. I dig triple digit numbers.
