I don’t know why they would send parts to the Pro Am rider without receiving payment regardless if the rider had a race to attend. You gotta pay to play

Riders are out here begging for sponsors, yet treating them like garbage. I side with MotoStuff on this one.

A small business sponsors 2 riders out of their own pocket, the riders don’t hold up their end of the deal but don’t return the parts that were lent to them. I’d be pretty pissed off too.

Not sure what public shaming would do and doing that is not real professional. Then again they did rip you off for $1200.

Post it.

Call them out. A verbal contract was formed when you both agreed to the terms. You were acting in good faith to uphold your end of the agreement.

When they lose their team rides, sponsors should be aware there are more deserving up and comers out there than to deal with that bullshit.

Having been a sponsor of some well known National and MXGP riders in the 80s...i can feel for.them. It can be very expensive for struggling companies. We never got snubbed like that, but did unintentionally by the riders, lose some stuff.

I say they give them a final.warning, then expose them if they don't respond

As someone whom worked in the industry for a few years, this doesn’t shock me at all....

Something specifically about dudes who hover around 25-40th, but have dudes blowing up their ego, always had the biggest attitudes.

So many times I’d get calls from these guys looking for help, and I would to the best of my abilities. Often times it would be “hey man, I knew you back in the day, Yada yada yada, do you think you get help me with a set of gear”....More times than not I would, or at the very least get them gear at cost plus shipping.
It didn’t take long before they would call and go “hey, I love the gear, can I get 5 sets, 2 helmets, some socks, and casual wear for my family for the races”....I would say no, and I would never hear from them again, nor would they acknowledge me at the races.

Took me a few times, but I learned my lesson and just said we were out of budget.....
Really shitty, because I am sure I turned down a few guys that would have been great for the brand and truly appreciated it, but too many shitheads ruined the party.

O, and yea, publish the names. Save the next guy from a similar fate

Name and shame.

It shouldn’t be a big deal to return parts to a sponsor after you get a ride somewhere else. It doesn’t sound like they hounded the rider to wear the sticker. I mean stuff happens. Just kindly return the parts. No big deal.

Complete lack of decency on said riders part. And to ask they pay mechanic to remove the parts. That’s just pathetic.

Considering you’re dealing with riders who probably don’t even have a high school diploma, I’m not surprised.

Call them out and then take to small claims court. You can’t run a business off of IOU’s. Fuck em.

This could very well be the first case of moto-related entities not living up to verbal commitments. Shocking and scandalous!

Smart people in the industry never burn bridges because it usually comes full circle. This is also a prime example of why some companies, dealers, and manufactuers are the way they are. If someone is going to steal, or abuse the help they were given, I think people should know. I dont think the good people who appreciate help should suffer for someone who wants what they can take from the good honest companies of our industry. If they are doing this now their careers wont go far. The industry needs to get together and form a blacklist for rides and families who start and pull this shit!!!

MotoStuff has always treated me great. I have nothing but respect for Scott. I purchased their 280 kit. The mounting bracket was wrong. I emailed them about it with pics and received a new bracket with a pre paid envelope to return the offset bracket that didn't fit. No hassle and it was handled quickly. I've emailed Scott and have had all my questions answered. In regards to people taking Motostuff for granted. Treat others how you want to be treated. Those guys are entitled to nothing. They burnt you. I'd put a name up so the same thing doesn't happen to other companies. Reputation is everything. Can't burn bridges you don't have.

I would give them a heads-up on a Cut Off Date...then expose them if they aren't willing to do what's right. It's their choice if they choose to make an a## out of themselves.

I’ve been buying 280 kits from motostuff for a long time. Scott is awesome to deal with. I’d be bummed if the next order cost more due to him getting burned on other deals. As many above posted, call them out!

That’s the one of the most asinine things I’ve heard! I know you’re only quoting it from the post, but I’m just shocked that someone had the ego to request/suggest that! That alone should be grounds to blast the names!

They probably aren't returning your parts because they sold them

Either that or I'm thinking they knew what they were doing from the beginning. I hate seeing decent people get fucked.

I think there should be a way for businesses to leave reviews on customers. The online review business seems like a one way street. Customers know which business to avoid, but how do businesses know which customers to avoid?

Call them out...

Doing a "solid" for someone, then getting the "runaround" when it comes to payment is AFU. Rake 'em over the coals of HELL.

EDIT: Been playing too much Dio/Sabbath lately... But still, cook them.

Either used the parts, just saying sponsor conflict, or sold them.

Sounds like a deal. haha I know nothing about coding, but I do think it’s a good idea. A lot of people out there trying to take advantage of businesses, which ultimately drives the costs up for everyone else.
