I've been struggling big time with GL interrupting the guests on the Whisky Throttle podcasts since the beginning but the latest one with Trey Canard had put me over the edge...

I’m not one to care much about things like this, but I agree, his constant need to talk over and interrupt guests is annoying. Ping, on the other hand, has been an excellent interviewer.

Rather than complain to a bunch of forum users, why don’t you either complain to the producers of the show or even just stop listening?
Maybe the best way to help improve the situation is to get enough consensus from the target market for the show. Feedback on Vital is extremely helpful for industry businesses to hear what we want and then meet those needs.

Or we could just not talk about anything ever.

I thought this show was the most noticeable. I was hanging to hear what ping was saying several times but GL come in early ha ha. Still love GL and the show regardless. I can't wait for the next one

I did notice this but I do like what GL has to say, and it was always building on or directly relevant to what Trey was saying, so I did not mind it. I like it when it feels like three buddies shooting the shit instead of a formal interview. The show was also very long, it's not like they had a time crunch and Trey did not get to say everything he had on his mind. I thought it was a great show.

Yeah it's annoying and it's every show so I stopped listening a while ago. Even Bones Bacon told him, or Ping maybe, to stop interrupting. Shame it's continuing. It's just basic manners to not talk over someone. Sure it happens occasionally but it's ridiculous. And why does GL always have to give his version of the stories that the guest brings up?

Makes me wonder what stories we're missing out on from the guests who start saying something before getting a verbal block pass.

I have to agree with the op. Grant's personality is outsized to begin with and then when he gets a little sauced up it is really difficult to watch.

This topic has been brought up on here before and yes its very annoying. I started a thread several months ago about GL being drunk during shows and Guy axed it for some reason. Ping is awesome, GL is annoying enough said.

Yep, I like the concept of WT, like GL's personality and experiences, but interrupts way too much. I felt Trey was going to expand on the safety issues and also with his wife but GL interrupted and then the train of thought was gone and moved on to the next subject. Probably will continue to listen but if no change assume will not continue to listen to full episodes (either FF or just delete after it gets too annoying).

Side note, what is the intro song?

I usually just find his interruptions annoying, but when Trey was trying to explain the process of dealing with that kind of loss (while talking about his dad) I found GL to be very disrespectful.

I have to agree with OP. Not only the interruptions, but I feel like it's always with some story about themselves.
Listen, I think GL and Ping are both legends and have a ton of interesting stuff to tell, but as a show host your role has to be different, and can't be so self-centered. The fact that one of their first shows was about one of the hosts, was a little tacky in my opinion.

Just out of interest, does anyone happen to know if GL's vision recovered? A few years ago he had some sort of eye problem.

Seems like GL has been drinking less on the show so that's a plus. We are just fans and want to hear the guests tell about their career. Many that have been on WT haven't done many if any other podcasts or interviews. It would be nice to hear them uninterrupted. One thing is for sure. We have all learned more about South Africa!!!
Ping does a great job.

I love when GL gets a little sauced up. It makes the show more loose and gives the feeling of just some regular dudes talking moto with no filters like my buddy’s and I would do. Ping keeps things rolling smooth and does great, but GL is that wild card that keeps me listening. Maybe it’s just me but the interrupting the guest stuff isn’t as bad as what some make it out to be

TLD beer break isn't a thing anymore I noticed.

WT is better bench racing than matthus or DB have ever done. The TMZ of motocross.

I think when Matthes does his one one one interviews he seems more prepared having race results etc from different years. , not so much on the pulp mx show which tends to be shorter interviews about recent events , I agree GL can butt in too much and I think pingree interviewing by himself sometimes would be a good to get more stories out

I like how suddenly Grant is a super religious person when he has Trey on the show..I guess there were three things he cared about when he came here...winning races, smashing kitty, and jesus.

I think GL has been improving. I think if I was the guest, I'd feel more comfortable with others adding to the conversation, rather than just feel like I'm on the spot to tell my story.

I guess until we can complain about Ralph and RC we'll complain about GL on HIS show. And of course Matthes too, if he eats anything while on air. This stuff is all FREE content. You are not paying a penny. If you don't like it don't listen. If you hate GL but really want to hear the guest of the week, suck it up and listen and do your best with GL.

Personally, I love Grant. He's a great commentator at live racing and he has an enthusiasm and zeal for life that many don't. He keeps it positive and fun, and given the circumstances life dealt him he could easily be a jaded bitter guy who wants nothing to do with moto.

I am a fan of the show and have listened to every episode.

Some episodes are great, others are just good. The interview with Trey may have been criticized for being good but perhaps a little "dry" if GL hadn't played his part in the show. It is entertainment for us motoheads and I appreciate that it is produced.

You may not like every show, but as GL said in this last episode, "be careful what you wish for". You might wind up with a boring show if GL stopped being GL.

I agree with the OP. Ping and GL are awesome and the free content, format and guests are all awesome so hard to complain.

I like GL and maybe the show has a different feel when you are there live or watching from youtube but this episode (and others) I was listening intently on what Trey had to say and not so much Grant. Sorry guys.
