Well.. Perhaps you need a Kickstarter that doesn't wear-out your boots. That may fix the issue.

Sorry man, theres no way its going to be a regular 2 stroke again.

Youre going to have to accept it for who it is now.... But hey its 2017 and we need to be accepting of those who are different.

Remove carburetor. Remove float bowl. Remove main and pilot jets. Inspect jets for any accumulation of shit. After seeing that the pilot is plugged, remove said shit. Put back together in reverse order.

Replace the jets and go from there. I won't assume you have any mechanical knowledge whatsoever.

And see 2 posts above mine.

Rebuild the top end. Decarbon and clean your power valves. Blow out the massive dent in the pipe. Repack the muffler. Fit a BR8EGV. Put needle back in the centre clip and fit a 48 pilot. Clean and re-oil your air filter. Brapppp!

Change the oil filter bro. They tear easily and that causes loss of power in the first wheelie gear.

Is the 450 one the same? If so I have a couple that I never used from my 01 YZ450F. I can make him a killer deal on them.

Yes, the 450f oil filters are exactly the same as the 250 2 strokes.

Pull the head and see how much damage there is from detonation. You must use Race gas in these YZs

That's what I thought but I wasn't sure, I didn't want to give any bad info so I wanted to double check.

Check the piston nuts. A metric crescent wrench is necessary to properly torque them.
