My first new bike was a 96 RM. I can still remember how it felt and smelled.

My buddy bought a 98 rm250 i had a 98 kx250 back in 98. The rm was a turd and the convectional forks had a stupid amount of flex.

I got a poster of that bike at a motorcycle show and had it hanging in my room. Looking at that bike makes me feel 13 again even though I've never ridden one.

That thing might be worth 2-2500 to the right buyer. He had that super low hour 2000 KX250 on here a couple months ago, which was bad ass and my favorite bike from back in the day, and I told him he would get no more than three and he laughed at me... I was the high bidder twice at 2900 and 2950 reserve not met! at the end of the day they are 20-25 year old used dirt bikes meant to be ridden and they are not made out of gold!

Those 49mm twin chamber conventional were awesome forks. Way better (and a huge step up in technology) from the KX bumper forks.

Hi guys. Shane here, New England Motorcycle Museum project manager. This thing is real deal. It was very cool to hear it start up and I can assure u this thing is even nicer in person. We also have a few others that are like new as well that came from same seller. A 06 Kawi 450, 06 DRZ400, 04 Husky TC450 and not one but TWO 2003 Honda CR125's. I love this rm but I'm really excited for the Hondas. Give us a follow on facebook and ebay to stay updated with the cool stuff we get weekly !!

This perception was due to McGrath etc, switching up to works USDs, but the simple reality is none of the factory guys were running standard diameter forks on any model of bike. The Suzuki just was singled out because of the clearly visible/marketing difference.

This was not in my mind. Thats your assumsion. Bike was a turd and the front end flexed like crazy. Dampening might of been good.the forks sucked

The bike won every shootout with regard to both front suspension and handling in '96. Those were the two strengths of what was an otherwise average bike. It took the overall shootout win for both Dirt Bike and MXA.

I would have paid full asking price if they didn't start it. Anyone interested in my 1996 CR250? Brand new still in crate, has never seen light. I'm just looking to get $5k to cover my original cost. Let me know

Conventionals were so good they got rid of them within 2 years. They flexed like crazy.
