Need a good excuse to get out of work and go Moto this weekend...

Alright guys, I figured this would be the best place to ask this question because I’m sure some of you have done this before, so here we go.

I’m a RV/Travel trailer Technician for dads shop,(this makes it tricky) and he scheduled me to work this upcoming Saturday without asking if i was busy first. I’m supposed to be out riding! Now we’ve got a dilemma. What would you guys suggest for me to get out of work and go rip?

He is my old man, although were both adults and live across town from each other, it complicates things. I can’t just pull the “ I woke up with the flu and cant make it” usual story....

Alright peeps.. help me out so I can go ride!

Just talk to him about the weather. Its supposed to be super nice up here this weekend. Probably wont get weather this good again for a while. You trying to go to Riverdale or Albany?

Ride Saturday and work on Sunday. Or make up the hours on Friday/Sunday/Monday. 2 extra hours Friday, 4 hours on Sunday, and 2 hours extra on Monday.

It's been so wet and it's raining again tomorrow I've been to Riverdale and with how wet it's been. If I was gonna go this weekend it be Sunday and pray the track dried out some. Even though it's that Sandy ash it can still be crap.

I went down to Portland (from Tacoma area) and back today and it was DUMPING down there. It will definitely be a mudder but that's basically anywhere in this area in the winter for the most part. At least this side of the mtns.

As for the old man, I'd say hey pops I'm working late Friday and might come in Sunday cause Saturday i had plans to go ride. Obviously this would only work if whatever ur doing didn't have to absolutely be done Saturday. If it has to be done Saturday then i guess Sunday is ur day to ride hahahah

Well, its supposed to be somewhat dry tomorrow and Saturday. I have a buddy going up first thing on Sunday AM so he’s gonna let me know how the track is. IMO riverdale dries out somewhat faster than any other track around the Portland area, so wish me luck!

In my past experiences, yes. That track has some weird ash substance to it, it seems to dry fast, again, this is just my experience with that track 24 hours after a classic PNW rain storm passes.

Now, if you’re there while its raining, its actually not THAT bad. It’s your typical muddy mess, but the ashy dirt sticks to your bike like nothing I’ve ever seen. If you’re there and its raining, and you ride, just plan on spending the upcoming evening cleaning your bike Laughing

Sunday seems like itll be good, I’ll be there in a tan Ford Ranger with a 2016 CRF with the number 404! Come find me!

You can ride Sunday, right? Do it then. It's OK to tell your pops to make sure you don't have plans before scheduling you, though. Ask him to do that next time.
