Sorry, but this is kind of bullshit. So you're telling me a guy with a pro license can race pro nationals and then race Loretta's so long as he doesn't score more than 40 points?
How about MX Sports adds a TRUE amateur class (AMX250) on pro race weekends that runs in between the pro motos (in place of the old wmx) so these upcoming guys can ride on the same track as the pros, and longer than a 6lap Sprint race? We could evenly directly compare lap times to the pros and get an accurate assessment of how far off pace they are. What a concept.
Thoughts?

I dont think Davey understands that once you've taken money or won money, by all intents and purposes, you are a professional.
The loophole has always been its OK for sponsors to buy your parents a house, buy you a truck, clothes and gifts etc etc and still retain amateur status.
Same for the bullshit Olympics.
Purse money paid to a rider....even if he is 10 racing an "open money class" forever makes you a professional.
Maybe they still have some Pro Am classes but when Jeff Emig or RC are racing 45+ , that's some straight bullshit.
That's like James Stewart racing 30+.
Even off the couch, nobody else has a chance.

Your wanting to get a ride - very unlikely if you are already A class
Or have a ride and are waiting for your turn on the pro team - and showcasing the bike and gear you are sponsored by...to sell to the younger generations there.
So - who cares????
The exclusion is written so guys who hoover around the 20 mark or slightly better at pro nationals - COULD race loretta's - because MOST of those type guys are in it for fun anyways
IF you can't beat them - why get your pants in a wad...you aint gonna come out swinging in the pros...
If you race loretta's in A class and DON"T have a ride - AND aren't a garunteed podium finisher - why would you race loretta's other than for fun anyways????
They don't pay back any purse for the area, regional, or ranch, it's costly, and your not gonna earn ANY ride getting 10th
