Know I'm not alone in this, SX was getting "Stale" as an open bag of chips in Michigan until this years SX. Now I'm watching every event like "Who's gonna win this week"?!? type shit.
Like it used to be in the 70's-early 90's.

Remember watching Privateer Ronny Lachien on the smokin fast YAM #224 with Bevo as his mechanic cheering him on with no pit board....just a fist wave "Go Mother F***er!
This years SX start reminds me of that as we have Two time winner WEBB and first win for Baggett open round winner Barcia...I see this year as getting better and better for the expected winners to hang with the young hungry bunch.

I don't see WEBB going away anytime soon, Good for him Man

It's been really good since round #1. There are like 8 dudes out there that could actually win a main. If everyone stays healthy ( kind of impossible ) this year could be simply incredible. Add Zach to the mix in a couple rounds too.

Really sucks we lost Ando , Weston and Malcolm for now though.

Best thing would be if another couple of riders in each class could sneak wins to catch up to leaders

I agree, I thought Tomac would start his domination by now. But no, its wildcard city.

The red plate is getting passed around like a bowl of mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving. It's a good thing .

Yea Osbourne comes back in a few rounds lol... By all accounts he was faster than JA this off season/overseas. Although looking back now who the hell knows what that means. Zacho is an animal though he DOMINATED everyone the last few years. Gonna be nuts...

Enjoyed the racing in oakland, there were some good battles all night that lasted numerous laps.

Jimmy638,

You are absolutely correct about ex itment returning to sx. Hopefully it will stay this way for a long time.

Nothing against the riders blessed with ability and/or a hunger to win no matter what they have to do, but i am sick of win streaks and domination.

Now then, Maybe my old brain is failing, but I don't think Lechein was ever a privateer on a yamaha.his yz 125 that he raced the 125 outdoors on was about as trick as they came, with the exception of honda.

And didn't he win the Orlando sx his rookie year in '83?

Actually, it was late in ‘83 and Lechein had signed with Honda, so not getting a bike to ride from Yamaha, he bought a production ‘84 YZ250 and won the SX race, but I also believe he was running the number 18.

Webb seems to have really gelled on the KTM. My pick for the season. His confidence is sky high and KTM has everything he needs to do it.
