I have been shopping around lately for a 450. I was appalled when G Force in Denver told me 10.5 plus taxes for a yz450f. Is it me? Denver seems to think its bikes are lined with gold. The craigslist ads are laughable, too. What prices are you guys paying for the YZ and KTM? Thanks!

I drove 6 hours round trip and picked up a 2020 FC 450 yesterday for $8600 out the door in NY which includes our nice 8% sales tax. I was also quoted $8900 OTD for a left over 2018 450sxf at a different shop. Some places like to deal, others know a sucker will come along at some point and pay full price. Best advice is start contacting dealers in a 100-150 mile radius and see what their best price is.

I paid $8800 otd for my 2020 yz450 back in May. I found them a little cheaper but I wasn’t driving 200 more miles to save $200 so i went with a dealer that was fairly close.

I can tell you right there are no deals to be made. Yz450fs sell well and honestly they are being treated like gold right now. We have seen most OEM factories back to normal with production and distribution. Although Im not sure how it is in colorado. Everything seems to be expensive there. The sad thing is, is someone will happily pay 10.5.

Agree with you on that. Someone will pay it.

Tejas Motorsport right outside of Houston was advertising $6999 last month. After everything it was $8300.
That was for a 20 YZ450.

My 2019 450SXF about 1.5 years ago had an MSRP of $9,900 and I paid $9,112 OTD in Tulsa, That's 8.0% off MSRP. I know that was pre-virus but just offering as a reference point. Note there is no tax on that number. I don't title my bikes to avoid sales tax.

Previously I bought a 2018 450SXF for 8.3% off MSRP and a 2017 450SXF for 5.6%, both OTD pricing from same dealer.

I saw the Yamaha programs. It isn’t the dealer’s fault, necessarily. Yamaha pulled the rebates back in a big way in July. Supply and demand...

$10.5K + tax for a yz450 lol. My guess is that if they keep up these prices there are going to be a lot of former yamaha riders who branch out to ktm, husky and kawasaki. The yz450 is a great bike but I'm not spending $1k more for it than a brand new FC 450.

If you want to get a ktm or husky reach out to steve at Elite Ktm in loveland. He is the owner and is first rate and has a nice shop. I don't know what discounts they're currently running but I'm sure if you gave a call they'd be straight with you. I've been debating a 2020 yz450f but I might go for a sxf or possibly even a FE. I'm not paying $10k+ for a yamaha. I'll just keep my 18 for now.

As a salesman at a dealership I would recommend you make sure of that. You don’t have to register your unit for the Manufacture to register it as a sold unit. At that point once you are made the registered new owner of it the irs will charge the tax. I’ve heard of some customers trying to buy do something with their house and find out there was a lean bc they owed taxes on their unit. That’s coming from someone in NC where the dealer doesn’t have to charge tax.

My YZ450FX was $9000 OTD, I bought out of state though so no sales tax.

Try calling TnT in Laramie for the YZ. Those guys usually have fair pricing, but don't know if they have any stock.

Called yesterday and they don’t have any bike at all right now. They’re good guys, though, for sure

I have a YZ450F and a kx450. I came off ktm’s for the last couple of years. The ktm is better for tight stuff while the yz is phenomenal for everything else. Hitting big jumps and general stability is great on the YZ. I freaking love that bike.

You recommend I, "make sure of that". Make sure of what? I've been buying bikes for 48 years and have NEVER titled or paid tax on one of them. In Oklahoma we don't pay tax to the dealer, you only pay tax if you go to a privately owned/run Tag Agency in order to get a title. I've never titled a lawn mower, I'm not going to title a non street legal dirt bike.

So Grand Prix in Denver wanted 10.5 for the YZ450F and I absolutely Was not doing that. All terrain motorsports in Grand Junction had the Yamaha for 8499. So I called to inquire about that and I learned they were selling the Husqvarna FC450s for 7999. I stressed a little on the decision but I went with the husky for 7999.

I did call Grand Prix back to tell them I found it for 8500 as they are much closer to me. I got laughed at and was told to hang up and go buy the other bike. So, road trip it is ....
