Straight from the horses mouth....

MURRIETA, Calif. – The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team has confirmed today that multi-time FIM MX2 World Champion Jeffrey Herlings will compete in the final round of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship this Saturday, Aug. 26 in Crawfordsville, Indiana.

Herlings, who currently holds 2nd overall in the premier MXGP Championship, made the last-minute decision to race the KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION on U.S. soil before heading to his regularly scheduled stop at the MXGP of the USA in Jacksonville, Florida one week later.

Herlings: “Since I was already coming to the U.S. to prepare for the hot and humid conditions that we’re going to face in Florida, I thought it would be a fun opportunity to race against the best riders in America while I am already here. I’m looking forward to a fun weekend with the team.”

Expectations are very high for JH84... At least he put the money where his mouth is. No excuses, that would be weak.

Saturday just got better...

I have seen him ride in person in Europe, the kid is special. Different bike, different track, and different event schedule should all make for an interesting day.

I doubt it. Have you seen Tomac's last 6 races? He's been all over the show with results. I see JH and MM banging bars.

Hell yeah!! If you're not a fan of this kid, you're not a fan of MX!! The more exposure the GP series gets here in the states, and the more I get to see of Herlings, the more I like his attitude!! It's so damn cool to see the GP stars and our AMA stars squaring off somewhere other than the DesNations!!

"Fun opportunity" and "Fun weekend" ?

The boy came here to play. Folks like Herlings and Tomac define "Fun" as winning.

Herlings loses: It was Fun! All Herlings supporters say "He was here for Fun!"... "Cut him some slack!"

Herlings wins: It was Fun kicking their asses! All Herlings/MXGP supporters erupt in glee! Vital will never hear the end of it.

Tomac wins: "Heck, Herlings was only there for Fun"...

Pretty much sums it up....

Cool seeing him finally do a national. Wish AC had the title wrapped up so he might join. Have a little MXoN's race going on.

Sad part is that AC222 has 101 points over Herlings with only three rounds remaining.

Cairoli would have to be abducted by aliens to lose the MXGP title. Hats of to AC222.

Herlings has ZERO skin in this game other than avoiding severe injury. He should curb stomp with ease.

If he wins it will be very impressive as this track is NOTHING like a GP. Very open, fast.

The sad part is, you're still complaining. At least he has the balls to come over and race.
Realistically, I don't think the expectations are that high for him winning the race. Been in the country a few days, new bike, new format, different riders.
