Sipes is up there of current riders, winning all sorts of race over very different disciplines, pretty cool,

Stefan Everts won the MXGP and ISDE outright title in the same year,

“ALL AROUND” top 4 on my list !
MX / SX = whole different conversation. You can’t compare RC Stewart, MC and all the other “Greats” when you’re talking all around best riders.

I agree with Everts. Winning the ISDE and MXGP is the same year is crazy.

Shane Watts was a beast. Toby Price, David Knight....the list goes on.

The Gypsy Tales podcast with Hill was really revealing. It kind of shaped my opinion to throw Hill’s name up at the top of the list. Obviously Hannah, Johnson, Villopoto, Mcgrath, Stanton, Dungey and the other champions are gnarly as hell. Jesus...just think about how insanely tough it would be to win a 450 championship both Euro and American. To leave off some of the great Euro guys is due to my ignorance and lack of following the series due to it being THERE. Hetlings, Everts, Decoster and the rest can’t NOT be considered gnarly.

Tough sport.....even at my level.

It’s hard not to throw kailub Russell into the mix. Or taddy blazusiak. But i guess it all just depends on what you define as gnarly.

Travis Pastrana, Josh Sheehan, Jackson Strong, in terms of gnarliness no racer is touching these dudes.

This guy is a good example of a bad ass. Got to meet him on a construction job back in 2015. Super cool and he was handing out Rocket Rex stickers.

Rex is an OG but Travis is still my pick for total badassery

Malcolm is up there, no doubt. #LEGEND

Mouse is talented, but he’s not even on these guys level. (I grew up with him, know him well) he could’ve been on the list, if he wanted to though. He had the talent.

Carlin is definitely a badass RIP I was fortunate to get to know and ride with him. I rode with him on his birthday last year, just before his crash. He was an incredible human and a super talented guy on a bike. He had a blast in the woods that day, I was stoked on the conditions when we got there. He had never ridden the Piutes before.
Tom Webb followed us up that day with a couple of our other buddies. Great day, but also the last day I saw/ talked with him. Kind of bitter sweet.....
If we were talking overall “motorcycle riders” (including street bikes) he’s top 3 IMO.

I’ll throw Taylor Robert in the mix
He’s been on both winning USA ISDE teams, has won his class/been top 3 in the world the past 4 years at ISDE, and had a 3 year undefeated streak in worcs going until he lost this year to Zach Bell.
He used to battle Webb and Haaker in endurocross, and I’m sure given some practice would be a main event sx and top10-15 outdoor guy.

And there's Stephane Peterhansel - Outright winner of the ISDT/ ISDE, a few Enduro WCs, early Supermoto victories, a few big Beach races, I think, too.

6 x winner on Bikes in the Dakar, 7 times winner in Cars at the Dakar.
